Hello, I'd like to participate in the Bankroll Challenge or rather thought that I may not tilt my money away if I write down how I did it.

Little Backstory: I had a very long pause of multiple years and started during the full tilt hype. I've won and lost thousands of dollars multiple times and I guess my little achievement was that I grinded my way up the single tables SNGs. Full Ring. Started with the I think it was 1.50$ SNGs on Stars. I actually did proper bankroll Management that time and was super happy when I reached the 60$ games. I dont remember the names but I remember my first 60$ SNGs was full of PokerStars Pros, Supernovas and Supernova Elite Players, and I won. Good times... Well why am I not playing in those stakes? Long story short my friend lost all my money and payed me back very very slowly, I tried to get somehow back to my limits which ofcourse failed and I was not in the right mood for the micro and low stakes. This went on for a few years and I realized that I wont do me any favor.

Starting a few weeks ago I was in the mood for Poker again. I dont know why there were so many Poker Videos in my Youtube recommendations but I watched the old High Stakes Poker seasons and stuff like that. Anyway I was in the mood for Poker but it was just to gamble some money away. Before a few Days ago I was like why not give it a last shot, try to run it up somehow "save" in micro stakes and see where I can go. This was ofcourse after I lost over 80 bucks of the 90 I cashed in. But I would write down 90 as my starting bankroll actually 100 since I added 10$ on a different site. I try to give updates here and there and hopefully can explain my reasoning. There could be a day where I sit with all my roll on a PLO table but hopefully that wont be in the near future.

My Games:

NL Holdem SNGs is probably my best game, multitable up to 90 is still very profitable in the past but the 180man tables I had problems going deep. I play MTTs here and there but thats mostly where I lose my money. I really like to play a horse or 8game tournament from time to time tho just because you cant play all those nice games often.
NL Holdem Cash Games is where I lose my money. Live Im up but online Im not. I can talk about live games that I played in Amsterdam, first time I used the hotel save it was "just" like a 1000 but to me that was and is good money :).
PLO Cash Games - Love em - I think im good or "okay" I win if I play correct but if I am tilt, boring or stuff like that, man can you lose money quickly..

Because it took me weeks to get into pokerstars again I am currently playing on GGPoker. I final tabled 25cent and 50cent tournaments but nothing else. Doing the Honeymoon Mission I have completed 20 so far. I mostly play spins and cash but also MTTs here and there.

My Bankroll:
Starting Bankroll: 100$
Bankroll Goal: 5000$

Current Bankroll:
94,95$
Starting Bankroll: 100$

Happy to answer any questions, I really dont have anyone I can talk poker to these days.

How my last week went:
I also wanna write a little about what I did to recover my bankroll.. Last week I was at 18€ (this is without the 10€ i deposited on another site, which I did actually today). I played a few hundred .25$ and 1$ spins, NL/PLO2 Cash Zoom and Allin or Fold SNGs and Cash for the Honeymoon Mission. I also have a deposit Bonus that I am very slowly cleaning with like a dollar every day answell as placements in a leaderboard that payed out some money. Oh and I got 6 or 9€ from the Rakeback Spin but Im considering switching to the 20% rakeback Platinum option. Thats how I was able to get back to 82€ so over 60 a week which I am quite happy with.

Good luck in your challenge - and if indeed you sit with all your BR at one table, you will need that luck!
We recommend a tiny bit tighter bankroll management though :-)

The Spins feel super swingy so I was thinking of a 100-200 BuyIn rule.

Had to play 500 Hands for NL Holdem for the Honeymoon Mission I played NL5 and made like 4$.

Bankroll: 106$
Starting Bankroll: 100$
PokerStars: 11$
GGPoker: 95$
Spins played: 1,821

Goal for the day is grinding more Spins for leaderboard and moving from 0.25$ to 1$ games.

Start of week 2

Bankroll: 171,5$
Starting Bankroll: 100$
GGPoker: 102$ + 69.5T$

I got a 50$ Ticket through the honeymoon mission for the Global Millions Day 1 Tourney, which I dropped 3 blind levels before Day 1 ended with AA vs TT preflop allin.
I lost about 40 Buyins the first time I tried the 1$ Spins after which I tilted away another 20$ at PLO25. After which I was even more tilt for doing what I was hoping I avoid this time ^^
My Money is from leaderboard bonus, deposit bonus and honeymoon mission which gave me my final 50T$ today.

Hopefully I get a 5$+ Reward from the Fish Buffet soon I only need 600 points before I am a Gold Shrimp. Everything under 5$ and I made a mistake by not switching to platinum.

Good luck with your challenge!

There are several really useful articles in the strategy section I think would worth checking out if you haven't done it yet, for example this on Stop-loss limit or this one on tilt management . I thought I have no problems with tilt, but I had to admit after some terrible sessions that I just can't see the signs of it.

Hey thanks, I gave them both a read. I usually try this stop loss limit method already but some days I just don't have the discipline. What would be a good amount for Spins, 10-15 Buy Ins ? I play 6max not 3max.

Week 3

:profit:
Bankroll: 210.67€
Starting Bankroll: 100$

Overall as you can see I did profit. I had a few days where I could not win a single all-in no matter how good my cards were. I wanna start realizing when I have those days and quit earlier. To often I end up chasing my loses on those days which never works.

I have not yet fully migrated to the 1$ Spins. I play 2x 0.25$ and 2x 1$ and I haven't yet taken a shot at 3$.
Not sure at which point I will or should transfer to Cash Games.
Did not dump to much money into MTTs this week and the few I did I actually min cashed or made 2-5$ profit.
I looked a bit into online training sites, Run it Once in particular, 25$ is something I could afford ^^ but I feel like I should pay it from my bankroll and I cant cash out atm since I still have my deposit bonus running.

Goals this week:
Continue to grind Spins. There seem to be a few new names on the Leaderboard and I know most of them mass grind the 0.25$ Spins so the sooner I only play 1$ the better ^^
Working on not tilting so much. Quit when I lose..

Really bad day today but I have to continue grinding since Leaderboard reset is tomorrow. I am "only" down 24$ which could be way more the way I run.

he raised allin I called.

This hand just happened while writing this. I am at the point where I think I lose every Hand before the board runs out, which I do but it does not help that I feel this way ^^ He called my Allin and the moment I saw the 8 on the flop I knew that I would lose.

Not 100% sure since I dropped to a lower level again but I think I am down around 50 Buy Ins it just happens super fast. I have like AK call an lets say A4 allin and register for the next one. A9 vs 87 and AQ vs A5 while writing this :)
The heat wave and me living under the roof is not helping the situation much :f_mad: going to take a little break and buy some ice...

Update 0:10
Man Im sorry for ranting here but this day is really depressing for me. I would never believe someone that describes the hands I have today, its way to disgusting ^^ I am at -31$ and at this rate I wouldve been better of not playing at all ^^
Thought the run is over when I won 3 dominating hands in a row but it was just a fluke.
Leaderboard reset is in 11 Hours 40 minutes and I think it will be a very very long night..

Week 4

Doomswitch still on, profit is only from rakeback/leaderboard and if I wouldnt had played the last 3 days it would be more ^^

Bankroll: 267,82
(+ PokerStars 3.50$ with a micromillion mtt running.)

Since tuesday I am doomswitched. Which resulted in me being quite depressive the last days.
Here is an example of a normal game: I double AK vs A2-9 and got 600 chips. I lose AQ vs AT and have 300 chips. I lose A9 vs K9 and I am out.
Please don't get me wrong, I don't expect to win all my All Ins just because I have a better Hand. But if I am like lets say ~75% favor (often way more) and I win 0-3 out of 10 hands it gets to me after a while.
"only" tilted away 15$ at all in or fold which is compared to how I have tilted in the past almost nothing ^^

Not sure if I need a break from Spins or Poker in general but this week I doubt I get a good leaderboard position.

So, has the doomswitch been switched off in the meantime? New week, new look for the leaderboard as well!
