I just joined the The Bankroll Challenge 2024, to motivate myself to reach my goals.
Starting Bankroll: $ 41.40 & my first goal: $ 500.

GG poker looks more like the Full Tilt Poker tables that we once knew, so not that surpising that it fits you better than Pokerstars.

I also play at GG poker, nice room, lot's of traffic and choice in game types.

Wellcome back. I had even longe break from poker before starting again. Which game you play and have you made those daily honeymoon missions? Making them gives nice tickets and cash dollars to small bankroll.

It was funny and instructive to play those missions because they forced me to play exotic poker variants that I've never played before and of course Holden that I don't play normally (play only PLO).

Was a week of some winnings & losses, which led to a 2 bucks loss in total but my BR is still in check so I'm happy.(afterall you can't win them all :f_cool:)

Restarted my poker training here, redone what I had done in the past, never wrong to refresh the basics.

Watching the video series "Poker Guide 2024 for Beginners", recommend those to everyone who is in his beginfase of his/her poker career.
Could already apply it already at the tables and made a 5 dollar plus profit on holdem tables NL 2 ( glad I did or my loss would have been greater.)

This week went on exploring some poker variants on GG, it did hurt a little my bankroll I must admit. The main drainer was the All in or fold variant, should only play if you have to much money, in other words not:f_cool:,

On the other hand, the mystery battle royal, is short & sweet, fun to do, I won some , lost some money.

Studying pot odds and implied odds, second part not fully grasp at the moment but I will get there..

Had an ear infection, so a few days no poker, writing , whatsover that needed my grey mass (aka brain) to work, due to the suffering.
Decided to play only at holdem tables, no tourneys at moment, to get a feel of the beginners guide, sofar it goes well, the last three days always ended in a plus.

Since the ear pain has gone , restarted to study, mostly the beginners guide.

Reading blog posts here, one I recommend is the one from Dara O'Kearney, always great stuff he shares.

I'm still a bit hesitant to answer on hand discussions, since I am still learning myself...probably will post a hand of mine myself soon (if I figured it out)

Yesterday was the start of The UEFA European Football Championship, where Germany the hosting country had to face Scotland. Germany won convincingly.
GG Poker launched at the same time , Pick & Go tournament MTT, if you want to play you need to choose a team you think will not lose.
You will receive a discount on your buy-in based on your team's live odds. If your team wins or draws, you advance to the next round.
Players from the losing team are eliminated regardless of their stack. I joined this tourney and chose Germany.
Already early in the football match it was clear Germany would win,which gave it an extra dimension on the poker table, as those that chose Scotland knew no matter how well they performed at the poker tables, they would be elimated anyways.
So that gave two kind of players in the camp of Scotland, those that went wild and went all in all the time & then there were those that wanted to take as many players down with them (preferably from Germany camp :f_cool:)
Actually at the elimation fase (when the football match was over) the top ten of players were of the "wrong" camp and had to leave the poker table.
At this stage, I had still a decent stack (average) and my first mission was to make it in the money, which I did
As I'm still in my learning curve of poker I sticked to the hand chart (must admit was hard at times:f_tongue:) & it payed of, ended 124th out of 3527 with a win of 23,29 dollars.

I love this story. I remember talking with an economist about fantasy football(American.) He believed that, no matter the intellectual understanding of statistics, any fan of a sport would default to their preferred team when gambling.
So I only play fantasy games about sports I don’t care about.

Been some hectic weeks ,so less poker, means less writing also. I did play some, all in all a quiet week at tables.
What I learned while playing, is joining a tourney late (late registration) not a good idea because you get rather quick in a all-in or fold situation due to low stack.
