Thanks jmunger, I appreciate it. I actually uploaded 120 videos of my Limit Hold'em Bankroll Challenge, so that's a lot of videos to watch :)
Definitely try to catch the livestream too if you can.

Day 30 of Bankroll Challenge
Well... This wasn't as good as day as Day 29. Sure, we ended $46 in profit and we are over $250 now. But... I got no Royal Flush this time :f_cry: I mean, I did get two Straight Flushes this session, one being a Steel Wheel. But it just doesn't feel the same, you know...
Here's a 9-K str8 flush in spades: http://www.boomplayer.com/poker-hands/Boom/13876132_3372C7C83A

Well, back to reality now :f_grin: Was kinda nervous before the livestream, because having a 30BB shot is such a low amount, especially higher you get, where ppl are playing better, winrates are lower, games are more aggressive and variance can kick in quite fast. Fortunately we started with few lucky hands and just maintained that level throughout the whole session and then got another lucky streak at the end. Couldn't be happier where this Bankroll Challenge is going. Oh and btw, spoiler alert... Limit Cat made an appearance right at the end of our Day 30 ;)

Start of Day 30 BR: $206,62
Profit: $45,93
End of Day 30 BR: $252,55

My next livestream will be on Sunday at 11:00. Another half an hour earlier than before. My goal is to collect 180 VPPs, so I can get another $10 from the Stellar Awards. Currently we have 1322 VPPs in the bank. So yeah, this time on Sunday, because Saturday will be reserved for Beer&Burger Festival. Will definitely post some pictures here :f_drink:

PokerStars is not working at the moment, so I'll make a random blog post :f_ugly:

I already said in my previous entry that I'm going to Beer & Burger Fest tomorrow. I attended one last year and it was awesome. So many different burgers and even more beers. I hate wine, so I'm glad that beers are getting the attention they deserve.

(He was a wise man who invented beer - Plato)

The funny thing is, few years ago all I knew about the beers was lagers and Guinness basically. But then I discovered a magical world of stouts, IPAs, pale ales and many others. And all of a sudden I stopped drinking lagers lol. They do not excite me anymore to be honest. I went to the restaurant few weeks ago and I ordered the most usual Slovenian beer Union. It's just a typical down washed lager and I didn't even finished it. I don't want to sound snobby or something, but it is what it is. I like to enjoy my beer as someone who likes to enjoy his wine. It's the same thing.

Popularity of craft beers and microbreweries really exploded here in Slovenia and I'm excited as well. When I move to a bigger hous I'll definitely try to brew my own beer. I already did a test with brewing Ginger Beer (obv not nearly the same thing)

I had a Black IPA for the first time few weeks ago and it was pretty interesting. I was actually confused, or better to say my brains were confused. My eyes saw a black beer and brains kinda already know what to expect when they see a black beer. But when I tasted the thing the mouth send them a "wrong" signal. At least that's what brains told me Basically seeing one beer and tasting the other. Pretty good.

On the other hand, I also tried Lumberjack IPA and wasn't impressed. It was just a test batch from Bevog Brewery and it probably won't make it in to regular sale. Rather for drinking, I used it for cooking :)

I'm not a Limit Hold'em player, but I often watch your streams. Is the kind of game that I would like to play better but I don't really want to mess with him. Luka, LHE is the game you always played or you tried other games?

Also, why does the table under 50-100 always end up some rounds after? If one player sits out the party is over, never understood why?

I started with LHE when I joined PokerStrategy. For my Free Bankroll and solving the quiz I had to choose between reading No Limit or Fixed Limit material. Most of us choose FL back then, just because it seemed a bit easier to learn, easier to count outs, calculate odds, follow bankroll management and stuff. And I basically just sticked with it all these yeares. I did try NL for few months, but didn't really liked it. I also tried PLO and I liked it very much. But it kinda wasn't +EV for me to start playing/learning it to be honest.

Everything above 5/10 revolves around fun players and if fun player quits, everybody quits. Nobody wants to pay the blinds that's why games break so fast. It's annoying, it looks stupid, but if one is doing this, everybody has to or its -EV for them.

Oh, you know it! This is what I did for dinner few weeks ago. You can't get more typical than this :) My grandmas would be proud.

And here's the most famous "schrammelmusik" in the world. It's Slovenian and It supposed to be 2nd most played song ever, just behind Yellow Submarine from Beatles (before the YouTube ofc).

Ahh this is it, the old folks music. It drives me mad :why: My brother works in Austria, and he also got infected with this yodeling, rootin tootin and hand clapping disease. :f_biggrin: . I used to work there also in summertime when I was a teen. It was 'nice' to wake up at 6 AM to the ORF weather panorama which usually plays this kind of music.

Not really excited to do this update. You will probably see why pretty quickly :)
First I'll do an update for Day 31. After that we'll see how we did in the whole Week 10 of Get Rich or Die Tryin' promo. And after that few pictures from Beer & Burger Festival.

Day 31 of Bankroll Challenge
Started yesterday's session with a healthy stack over $250. My goal was to play until we get 1500 VPP stellar award for $10, which would look nice on our graph. But after Sunday's session it seems that this bonus is the only good thing that happened in Day 31. And not just that. It's probably the only thing that "saved" us from not moving down already. As you'll see our cushion is really low now, only $17 left for 50c/1,00. But we can make it! Today's another session and we CAN'T lose a hand at the start... Yes, we surely have a lot of influence on that So before numbers, here's my plan for this week livestreamings:

http://www.twitch.tv/coreysteel111

  • Monday, April 13th - 11:30 CET (5:30am ET)
  • Wednesday, April 15th - 11:30 CET (5:30am ET)
  • Friday, April 17th - 11:00 CET (5:00am ET)

Start of Day 31 BR: $252,55
Profit: -$70,48
Stellar Award: $10
End of Day 31 BR: $192,07

Week 10 of Bankroll Challenge

So we finished Week 10 of Get Rich or Die Tryin' promo. It actually looked like a really exciting week, but the end result is poor unfortunately. Before the start of this week my winrate was over 3BB/100, but having two losing days now, droping 60BB, my winrate did fall under 3BB. But I guess the "magic mark" would be at 2BB, not 3BB, so everything is fine for now. No reason for an alarm, even though I have 17BB left to make it at 50c/1 :)
I just noticed this is our first losing week so far :( Actually surprised it didn't happen before.

Week 10
Hands: 2933
Week 9 BR: $243,84
Cash game Profit: -$61,77
Rakeback: $10
Total: -$51,77
Week 10 BR: $192,07 (-21%)

Week 10 graph

Overall graph

($145,71 cash game, $25 rakeback, $1,36 tournaments)

Beer & Burger Festival
Well... At least here we had a success... Not really :P The company that I was with this time wasn't really that keen on drinking beers and eating burgers, so I didn't try them as many as I was hoping too (both beer and burgers). But it was a fine festival anyway, this year there's gonna be two more of them (July and October), so there will be other opportunities I mean... This Saturday I'm going on a "beer" trip anyway so... Can't complain. Will post more stuff during the week ;)

How much did they ask for a beer ?

Kinda pricey for Slovenian standards. From €2,5 to €3,5 for 0,25L plastic cup.

I was talking with my father-in-law the other day and he was moaning how expensive beer got in his local store. 1 EUR for 0,5L can he said (standard lager). Thank god he doesn't know how much I spend for my beers

3.5 € for 0.25 L ? That's a robbery :f_mad: In Hungary on a similar event you'd get 0.5L for around 2€. 1€ for a bottle in a store seems normal, here I usually buy Staropramen(0.5L bottles) -my fav in value/price - in supermarkets for ~80 cents.

Yeah Staropramen is also not expensive here.
But you have to note that most of these beers are craft beers from microbreweries and that's why the prices were that steep. You could get your normal lager for normal price, but we weren't there for that :)

Day 32 of Bankroll Challenge
Let me tell you this... It's no fun to play poker, when you know that you'll have to move down if you lose 17BB But we kinda stayed afloat during whole session and made a little profit at the end. It looked more promising during the session, but can't say no to a positive day. I actually noticed that I collected enough FPP points to buy $25 cash bonus from PokerStars VIP Store and that's exactly what I did. Now I can breathe a bit easier, even though we are not out of the woods yet. Sitting at healthy $226 bankroll, but we all know how quickly that can change :)

Start of Day 32 BR: $192,07
Profit: $9,61
Cash Bonus: $25
End of Day 32 BR: $226,68

Hi... Back on the day 3 of your challenge, things isn´t going well at the beginning, and you talk about table selection... What kind of player should we search when seat at the table? Tag or loose players? Or seat at the right of the tight or the loose players?

Day 33 of Bankroll Challenge
This was one of the most fun and also one of the most productive livestreams so far! I had an idea to do some short Limit Hold'em videos, where I would just explain few stuff about our game (BRM for example, starting hand chart, stuff like this...), but couldn't figure out a name and you guys gave me some cool tips. We also coined a nice phrase to use in our streams... Don't like to fold'em? Play Limit Hold'em! :f_biggrin: :f_cool: Freerolll also posted nice meme, which I could use during my play. Need to find some other ones too :) Plus, we got a visit from Limit cat, which is always nice :P

Oh yeah, I also played poker.

Start of Day 33 BR: $226,68
Profit: $20,07
End of Day 33 BR: $246,75

Next livestream already tomorrow (Friday) at 11:00 CET. This time I won't be streaming during the weekend, because I'm going to a "beer trip" on Saturday. First we are going to visit a microbrewery for a tour and beer testing. The next stop will be local gastropub with excellent food (and beers). And the last stop will be whiskey shop. I'm not really a whiskey guy, I actually hate them and can't drink them, but friends are really into them, so I'm sure it's gonna be fun anyway :) And we also got someone who will drive us during our trip, so... No drinking and driving for us :f_love:
And don't you worry guys. I'll definitely post pictures! :f_ugly::f_ugly:

Hey jmunger, missed your post.

Definitely search for loose and passive players. They are going to be your best customers. I usually color tag them with green and just try to have at least one at the table. Preferably taking a seat on his left. I do this strict table selection when I play my regular limits, but can't really do this during livestream or I would spend way too much time searching for tables :)
TAGs are kinda neutral for me (orange color note). I don't mind them at the tables as long as I have loose passives. I try to avoid good LAGTAGs (red). Tight and passive (teal) and maniacs/bad lags (yellow) are the next best thing.

BTW guys, did you already try Natural Born Poker Player? It's an interactive game from PokerStars, which calculates your "Poker IQ". It's obviously just for fun, but definitely try it anyway. I really enjoyed it and even recorded myself playing :)

Here's Episode 1 - The Chase. Episode 2 will be online tomorrow and Episode 3 on Sunday.

Thanks. Today I made a review of my last session. Emphasis on statistics. I found a player with 88% fold on BB after a steal. This is a great player to have in your left, correct? You can raise almost any two from late position.

88% is probably not realistic, but still means someone like that is folding too much. So yeah, correct. Just steal his blinds relentlessly :)
