Here is ze hand;

0.05/0.10 No-Limit Hold'em (7 handed)
Hand recorder used for this poker hand:
Texas Grabem 1.9 by www.pokerstrategy.com.

Preflop: Hero is BB with 3:club:, 7:heart:
5 folds, SB calls $0.05, Hero checks.

Flop: ($0.20) 2:spade:, 7:club:, 4:diamond: (2 players)
SB checks, Hero checks.

Turn: ($0.20) 8:diamond: (2 players)
SB checks, Hero checks.

River: ($0.20) 5:heart: (2 players)
SB bets $0.10, Hero folds.

Final Pot: $0.30

Now, surely he would have bet more if he had completed his gutshot? Should i have called because i have a small chance of having better hand top pair despite low kicker?

Just fold here.
It often looks like he's trying to steal the pot, but so be it.
You had a freeplay here, so folding is free.

Hi again DaPhunk,

no good line for such a hand. I guess it's ok to both fold or call the river.

Also, there's a possibility to raise preflop, since your oponent's opencompleting which indicates very weak holding most of the time.

Cheers, i'll keep that in mind.
