i would because the board is rather hard to hit and you probably still have the best hand

No fold equity with this kinda board. Flushdraw/straightdraw out there.

That's why you have to bet to protect your hand, flop hard to hit a pair but easy to catch a draw.

I voted "no" because of the number of opponents, but now I begin to doubt. The pot is already quite large, and as Henne says we could even have the best hand. We have odds to see the turn, but we don't want to give the draws a freecard.
So I'm changing my mind, and will cbet, and reconsider on the turn.

This is in fact a standard continuation bet. Even with the flush and straight draw possibilities this board is hard to hit and so we are often ahead and need to protect. On a blank we can even bet the turn again and also check/call the river against one player if no draw arrives.
