Flop: ($6.00, 2 players) 7♥ K♣ J♥
Hero bets $4.50, BB calls $4.50

Turn: ($15.00, 2 players) T♣
Hero bets $11.00, BB calls $11.00

River: ($37.00, 2 players) 8♦
Hero checks, BB bets $39.00, Hero ??

I think it is standart up to the turn where he is left with a pot size stack.
Villain is unknown, has decent stats over a very small sample but has a fishy stack size.
The hands I beat are KQ and missed FD. The hands that beat me are KJ,KT, slowplayed JJ,KK,77,TT.

I don't think I should barrel the river because I probably won't be called by worse (apart from KQ). So I think that Checking the river is the best option to let him bluff his missed draws. Should I call then?

This depends on your history and how good he actually is so much :(.

If he realizes we never show up with a straight, he can even valueshove 2pairs here.
Also he might realize that something like KQ is almost never good by the river and turn it into a bluff.

So whether to c/c, c/f or shove completely depends on how good you think he is.

We can shove if wethink he's folding most 2pairs or even sets, so we're turning our hand into a bluff.

Can you explain a bit more?

I guess if he is bad it is C/F

What about if he is good? I suppose the following that you said is true then:

"If he realizes we never show up with a straight, he can even valueshove 2pairs here.
Also he might realize that something like KQ is almost never good by the river and turn it into a bluff."

Should we C/C in that case?

Can he ever be really good with this stacksize? I mean, once in a blue moon, yeah, but generally this player will not be brilliant.

I am inclined to call it off mainly because its bvb so he can expect your range and barreling freQ to be greater and therefore expect to be able to get you off more hands on the river when he misses.

Also he might realize that something like KQ is almost never good by the river and turn it into a bluff.

Im not sure about this. I think in most cases where hero has bet flp and turn and checked river, tpgk will be ok and he has no need to turn KQ into a bluff here. If we bet the river and stacks were deeper then he can turn it into a bluff but here he can comfortably check/b and expect to be ahead a decent amount of the time.

If he thought KQ was already behind on the turn, he wouldnt just call: he would shove or fold.

I thought about it again and discussed the hand with a friend and we agreed that he should actually not have 2pairs and sets in his riverrange because he would usually raise either flop or turn because there are so many draws.

But he still has 98s, T9s, 97s, J9s, Q9, K9 and maybe even some A9 in his range - a lot of combinations.
There are also the busetd FDs he could be bluffing with, but imo those don't make up for that many combinations because he'd sometimes semibluff flop or turn and sometimes just give up on the river.

So against most opponents (esp vs unknowns like him) this should simply be a c/f.

Yes, because in this case he is unlikely to be bluffing too much, but still shoving all the 9x.

As I said there actually aren't that many 2pairs in his range, but if he had some imo it's still a c/f because there are a lot more 2pair combinations than 2pairs he can turn into a bluff.

Anyway, I agree with Tim that we will probably not encounter opponetns on NL100 who would think that way and act accordingly, especially not if they have a 57BB stack.
