yes you have to call his shove, but that doesn´t make 3-betting AK wrong.
For example if he has JTs, 78s, 98s then he has 38% equity against your hand and you miss 2/3 of the times, so he would often just c-bet and take pot down postflop or if you decide to float he can always barrel turn. That´s why it is important to put pressure his weaker range pf as strong hand as AK and if he b/f there smaller pp-s you win a lot of money in the long run, also he may b/c pp-s and then c/f on scary boards, that means again +EV play
And if he calls pp-s then likely he would also call his Ax hands that AK dominates, so you can easily play for stacks if you hit your tp hand
Can´t see any reason why not 3-bet pf AK for value and if he wants then playing for stacks
