I was waiting for the blinds to come to me to leave the table when I get AKo UTG. I make the standard raise to 4BB and get a reraise to 7BB.

What to do in this situation. Note that my stack is bigger than the standard SSS stack with 28.5 BB meaning the odds for the plays change a bit.

I won the hand but it's more important if I played it right.

I don't think folding was really an option here pre-flop was it? And I don't think the push would be right either as I'd be a bit back against most of the range he's on and way back vs KK or AA. I think his range was something like 77+ AJs+ AQo+.

How would you play it, what would be the "perfect" play here?

frzl, would you push against a normal reraise (unknown)? We are missing quite some equity in this spot. The only thing that can help is Fold equity, since he minraised. Buy given our position, I need very solid read about his possible loose range and definitely doubt this move against unknown.

yeah well, the problem is that with 28.5BB stack you have to be pretty sure that he is very loose and loves to play most of Ax hands, but hates connectors and pairs))

I think I would have played it similar, without knowing if it's perfect.

Preflop due to the bigger stack a push seems too aggressive to me, so I also would have called to evaluate the flop.

Difficult decision on the flop. With TPTK I would assume I'm ahead.

c/f on this spot as agrressor would be too passive imo. After a raise from my opponent I still have the decision to lay down my TPTK which is in front against enough handranges.

Betting 2/3 of the pot means a bet around 2 - 2,20. With my Reststack I would think I'm potcomitted anyway, so I would push also. The A gives us some fold equity, a strong hand will call us anyway.

So I agree with the way you played it.
