SB: t5140.00 34.27 BBs - VPIP: 29, PFR: 18, 3B: 7, AF: 5.8, Hands: 285
BB: t1367.00 9.11 BBs - VPIP: 30, PFR: 9, 3B: 5, AF: 1.3, Hands: 76
CO: t1630.00 10.87 BBs - VPIP: 16, PFR: 9, 3B: 5, AF: 3.0, Hands: 1188
Hero (BTN): t5363.00 35.75 BBs - VPIP: 16, PFR: 13, 3B: 4, AF: 3.4, Hands: 96696

Pre Flop: (t225) Hero is BTN with A :spade: K :diamond:
1 fold, Hero raises to t425, SB calls t350, 1 fold

Flop: (t1000) A  J :spade: T  (2 players)
SB checks, Hero checks

Turn: (t1000) 5 :diamond: (2 players)
SB bets t675.00, Hero calls t675

River: (t2350) 5 :spade: (2 players)
SB checks, Hero checks

Against a very laggy opponent who kept calling from the blinds against my "steals"..

Was it ok to play the hand quite passively as I was quite risk-averse to the other BS? I checked the flop cuz I was "afraid" to get check-raised and opted for pot control IP..

Your preflop raise is king of big - I would raise around 350 here.
Also If you are frequently cold called from the blinds and you don't cbet this kind of flop, you shouldnt have raised in the first place..This is a 100% cbet for me.

I'm taking advantage of his "laggyness" here... so I'm definitely betting this flop ~600.

As played I'm re-raising on the turn ~1500.

my default is 2.5bbs = 375.. just mixing it up.. nothing wrong about it imo..

Flop check back is ok as villain seems to be pretty aggressive. To cbet or not is mainly about villain play style as if he is crazy enough to check-raise some draws I like to just check behind and allow him to bluff in future streets. In turn just call. When you get further action after raise you are usually not ahead of villain range and you obviously keep his bluffs in his range by call. In river when villain check you should value bet. Rare to xee better hand with this line.

Hi all,

I like the hand up to the river. I like betting this river for value. We're just not going to get check/raised that much.
