      Dealt to Hero 6:diamond: 5:diamond:

fold, CO raises to $1, Hero raises to $3, fold, fold, CO calls $2

      FLOP ($6.35) Q:club: 2:diamond: 8:club:

CO checks, Hero bets $3.50, CO calls $3.50

      Any thoughts?

PS: Villain instant check the turn. This made me think villain has a Q so I opted for going for my FD, but then he checked the river after the flop FlushDraw hit which I may represent - villain had @18$ left.

I think overbet shove on the turn is a lot better option than checking back turn and then shoving river ui on scary card
You would likely get folds against players who can´t thought but at the same time they expect you to barrel turn with your draws and you would not overbet shove river for value with AQ, KK/AA
