Should I have pushed harder with the set? after his call on the flop I thought his raise on the turn was likely a sign of strength - a set of 8s or a straight maybe, hence my caution after that. If he had a set he would of course beat me when the board paired, whatever it was.. but with 10s I would expect more aggression earlier. 8s and 7s are conceivably limpable preflop so a straight seems most likely when the second 8 comes. When I checked the river I was fairly confident he'd put in a big bet, but in hindsight maybe doing that myself and giving him a chance to fold was better.
