      Introduction

The purpose of this page is, to guide you through the download and installation of PokerStrategy.com SideKick. It will show you how to obtain the software and how to complete the installation. Find out all information about PokerStrategy.com SideKick in the overview thread.

      1. Download

      Download PokerStrategy.com SideKick here

Note: If you use Internet Explorer 9 please read this guide in the second post.

      Download e.g. with Firefox

A small dialogue asks you to confirm the download. Just click on "Save File".

After a few seconds the file should be downloaded to your computer. The Firefox Downloads window contains the downloaded setup file. Right click on it to open the context menu.

Now simply start the setup with a click on "Open".

Alternatively you can also doubleclick the file in the Firefox Downloads window.

      2. Setup

Windows asks you if you really want to execute the file. Yes, you want to!

A dialog box will ask you to read and accept the PokerStrategy.com license agreement. Check the box and press "Continue".

Another security warning shows up, asking you if you really want to install the
      application. Yes, you want.

Setup is now automatically downloading, installing and starting the application.
After a while the Login screen appears. Just enter your PokerStrategy.com user name and password to log on.

The application is now running. You can find it in the Windows tray icon list.

      Enjoy.

      3. Prerequisites

Poker Rooms Have To Save The Hand History Files

The working basis for PokerStrategy.com SideKick are the hand history files written by the poker room clients. Therefore this feature has to be enabled within the poker software. The following describes how to ensure that for all supported poker rooms.

      3.1 PokerStars

To enable PokerStars to save the hand history files open the Options menu in the main menu bar at the very top (1). Then chose the menu entry Instant Hand History Options... (2).

A new window opens. Make sure that the option Save My Hands History is enabled (a checkmark is placed in front of it).

Secondly make sure that the chosen language is set to English.

Leave the settings for location and storage time span at their defaults.

Finally don't forget to confirm your changes by clicking OK.

      3.2 iPoker Skins

Because of the recent software update, you need to check the option "Store Hand History Locally" in Settings->System in order to save the hand history (see the screenshot below), which is necessary for SideKick.

      Download with Internet Explorer 9

When you click the Download link, Internet Explorer 9 shows you a small notification bar on the bottom of the page, asking what to do with the file.

Click "Run" in order to execute the programm. You don't need to save it.

      "Smart"Screen Filter

If the SmartScreen filter is enabled you might get an additional notification bar telling you,
that this software is not commonly downloaded.

      Click on "Actions".

The actual action to run the application might be hidden behind a dropdown box. Click the "More Options".

Further options are displayed, click "Run anyway".

      Yes!

You can also earn Kicks if you are not tracked to PokerStrategy.com. But you can only participate in promotions if you are tracked.

      Yes!

You can also earn Kicks if you are not tracked to PokerStrategy.com. But you can only participate in promotions if you are tracked.
Play must however be on a partner room listed as valid for the promotion, even if you are not required to play with a tracked account.

      Richard

PokerStrategy SideKick was only launched today, when this thread was posted.

I do not see it on their list of prohibited programs, nor would it have been available long enough for them to examine it and put it there yet.

The confusion has probably come from them mis-reading your question.
A prohibited program is the Poker SideKick, which you can read about here.

      Regards,
      Richard

Does it work if you're playing 5CD? What about lowball games like Badugi or 2-7 TD?

      Hi satishvasoya,

PokerStars support have confused this with number 37. Poker Sidekick which is not the same as PokerStrategy.com SideKick program.

We apologize for this confusion. Enjoy the game :)
