Flop: Obviously made already a pretty cruel mistake right on the flop where you raise is way too small. I would definitely go for pot size raise even on the flop.

As played
Turn: Him even being rather bad player and not knowing much and haven't seen him playing the fold is most likely the safest option here. Those loose-fishy type opponents can easily donk like that with even flush here. If he really had some strong hand then why didn't he 3bet on flop. So most likely good fold and saved some money.
