A friend of mine recently posted a LIVE hand he played at the UKIPT.

I don't have stack sizes, blinds etc but they're not really needed. Just imagine they're both quite deep and there's room for non committed manoeuvre on every street. Think he'd been reasonably active, 3betting and so on.

A very active opener raised from MP or so and hero 3bet A2s frm the btn. BB and OR called.
Flop A9x, it checks all round. Turn came a 2 and BB leads for 60% pot, OR folds.

Now my argument is to raise the turn, but apparently I suck majorly post flop and I don't have a clue because it folds out bluffs, 9s, and in his opinion other Aces. Now IMO we're NEVER folding out an Ace vs a rando live fish here. And I'd rather be taking the value line than trying to keep in thin value bluffs etc because it is still highly likely he has an Ace and our 2pr is pretty well disguised.

But not only this, what about balancing turn raises? I mean where the hell are you raising turns if it's not here? To be successful in MTT's you need to be raising turns, it is the ultimate strong looking move because we hardly ever play it without the nuts. So if it's everyone's view that turn raises are strong then we need to have enough bluff turns too. If we've presented this "raising turns more often than most do" image then we're gonig to get more value from those non believers, and live fish are the ultimate non believers.

Anyway it turned out villain had AKo, hero just flatted turn and then got counterfeited river so it went check check. Missed value turn imo and that's not being results orientated.

Who also hates a turn raise? Even a min. On the river I think we even get thin value from some JJ-TT hands.

turn raise looks best with the image + stacks.

you are right, no one would ever fold any ace vs hero .
