I think shove is fine especially if you're still learning about odds and stuff postflop. otherwise your raise is probably better

if he's tight i fold on the turn, you definitely dont have odds to your flush, only call if he's loose enough to shove a whole lot of bluffs and flushdraws

Yes I am still learning about odds & that, there is so much information to absorb. I've started to stick religiously to the PS starting hands chart in these tournaments & I'm starting to see some positive results. Almost made the final table again last night in another MTT.

With less than 15blinds, you shouldn't do anything else than shove, from every position.

Here, I would shove 20-30% of my range.

with just over 13bb here im shoving with

AQo+, AQs+, 99+.

because its a freerole I would assume that he would be calling lighter then he should be and would probably still make the call with his a7o

when optimally he should only be calling your shove with

AQo+, AQs+, 99+.

The problem with min raising in these spots is when the big stack flats you and the flop comes with overcards, your going to be in a tricky spot.

With less than 15bb, you really need to shove when you can since you don't have any kind of Fold Equity when you 3bet so you are looking for hands with decent Equity when get called.

a7 is a fold -> not a defend -> you could be already dominated!

Don't know if it's you or me, but I tought Hero was JJ, not A7.

If Hero is JJ, i shove this range, if he's A7, i agree with your range

If you are new / inexperienced I would just stick to a general basic rule:

If you have less than 13BB maybe even less than 15BB, dont get fancy, just shove or fold.

Thats the first decision out of the way, then all you need to do is pick the right situation and range to shove.

This depends on position and previous action.

Again as a general rule, if there is any action before you then your range should be tighter, so maybe 88+, KQs, AQ.

You can use a similar range for open shoving from early position.

For HJ/CO onwards with no action you can shove lighter so maybe 55+, TJs+, QJ/KQ+

Once you get below 8/9 BB then you can loosen the range further and open shove maybe 78s+, J9+, 22+
