A lot of players like to play tournaments because of the challenge to become first out of many players. Some focus only on big tournaments, others play them as a variation to their normal cash games. Playing tournaments is pretty popular. No wonder, as you can win big by playing only one tournament.

Now we want you to tell us what your biggest tourney cash was so far. We are also looking forward to read about your "tourney story". So go ahead and tell us. :)

      $2633.60 \o/

//edit: t'was the party 300k gtd on Dec. 30th - 200+15$ buy-in, ~1500 players, top 250 paid if I remember correctly, I finished 11th, out on a coinflip with something like 3-4BBs. heh I remember now, it was QJdd vs 77, had to shove on the BB vs a MP raise, 5- or 6-handed table. There was quite a big difference between 11th and 10th place money, but I multiplied my bankroll by 13 with that cash, so no complaints :D

My biggest was about $17 in a $1 ~600 player tourney on Titan. 9th place.

Hoping to get something bigger soon :)

I've only played in 2 money tournaments, by participating in the last two "Battle of the Donkeys" on SoyCD's team.

I just barely cashed in both of them for a grand total of about $40.

I really enjoy tournament play though, and when I get my bankroll up to my goal, I'd like to start playing tournaments more often.

Until then, I'm just grinding. :P

$172 for 2nd in the APAT Norwegian Open last Feb on Blue Sq. 86 runners and I managed to get all the chips in HU with AKs against 10c 9c and he hit a 10 on the turn. I was gutted and deleriously happy at the same time.
I only made FT by calling an UTG push when in the BB with Q 10o for 2/3 of my chips. He turned over 7 4o and the rest is history lol.

My biggest cash in tourny, I won Ladbrokes $40K guaranteed which i think is now $30K guaranteed for $11K.
The reason I like mtts is that you know exactly how much you are risking ie the entrance fee unless its a rebuy of course, and if you make top 5 or so, you are generally getting a great return on your investment.
The down side of course is that you can be playing for several hours and come away with nothing.
I dont pay high entry fees for tournys, I prefer to play a satellite to it. So for instance the ladbrokes tourny was $100 entrance but i got in via a $10 satellite.
I dont think you could make a living from mtts alone because with such large fields there is just too much variance.
i think you should always look for value tournys - added prize money on top or guaranteed prize where there are regularly fewer runners than the guarantee.

$215 for second place in a party 2k freeroll promotion.

There were 1300 runners, so it was quite an achievement for me to get that deep. Unfortunately I made some mistakes HU, which I have now learned from.
Oh well, theres always another tourney to win!

Just finished playing 1500£ Guaranteed toruney @ T6poker and the result is that my head wants to explode (42 starters, 5 got the money). 5th got 140£.

Well, after some hours of playing I finished 6th. i was 4th by my stack and some faggot, who was the leader, had 4-5 times the bankroll that I had and with any two cards he just went allin. So, I got QQ and was sucked out by A9 (Flop:899).

Biggest won is 150$ so far.
