[Closed] AJ on the button vs. many limpers -$5 MTT NL, FTP

I would fold this preflop. There are too many limpers in the hand for a steal, and ajo isn't good enough to isolate limpers with.

The raisesize preflop is also to small, so IF you do raise, I advice you to raise to at least 3bb's+1bb per limper.

I would also bet the flop ~2/3 potsize, and I wouldn't ever fold on the turn after raising preflop.

I strongly recommend you to reread the articles and visit some coachings.

Yeah I agree the raise was no good there. I'll definitely raise bigger and with a stronger hand to back it next time I'm in that spot.

Btw, I felt I had a good enough read (a little loose but good) on the UTG 1 player who bet the turn. He had J10s! MP2 hit his flush on the river. Slowplaying with a draw on the board and several players is bad, bad, bad!

I would call this preflop. If we want to raise we have to raise to at least 400, which is too expensive with AJo.

As played, we can check or bet on the flop. It's quite hard to say exactly, but usually there's a bit of value in bet/calling.

On the turn as played I'd probably call.

You have position and an OK hand with so many people limping. I can't bring myself to fold this at all. That said there's no reason to reason because you are against 4 players and have nothing as yet. Just call and see what happens.

Given that you raised pre-flop, you have to bet that flop. If that flop isn't good enough at least for a bet, I am not sure why you are playing the hand at all.

I would call the turn too. I also dont know how you can read UTG+1 for a set of tens here. If he is loose and limping all the time, I dont think you can really know what he has at all.

On the turn, I would call because we can reevaluate easier on the river as we're in position. Facing another bet from UTG on a blank card I would lean towards a fold rather than a call there. But on the turn I think we have to call.

I figured there was a good chance someone had a ten so I folded to the turn bet from a player who's a little loose but good enough (I think anyways) to not try bluffing there plus I could be dominated with so many players... but on second thought I probably wasn't dominated by AQ+ since everyone limped...

So maybe bet 2/3 pot on the flop, 1/2-2/3 pot on the turn, then check/fold river?

Raise bigger pre flop 7/8x - narrow the field a little - don't just build the pot for every donkey and his suited connectors to come along for a shot at the jackpot. Raising 3x over 3 limpers is pointless

Bet big on the flop at least 2/3 pot if someone has a t you will find out there most likely otherwise take it down - don't give free cards on that flop with that many players in!

if you bet 2/3 on the flop, you can safely check behind the turn and probably even check/fold the river.
