Online-Poker faciliates a quick poker career advancement if you use PokerStrategy's content wisely.

One advantage of online poker is the high amount of hands you can play in a relatively short time - and multi-tabling might prove difficult when playing live. When playing online you also have the possibility to evaluate hands, situations and your opponents with the Elephant. You can create a hand history and post it into the hand judging forums. So all in all you learn poker much quicker and more effectively when playing online.

Yet, who would deny the flair of a typical poker homegame with friends? Reads get a completely new dimension, and who would not like to play the tables in Las Vegas?

How about you? Do you sometimes play live poker or are you only interested in the tables online?

Hey,
I used to play live poker with friends for over a year in the local pub In fact that's how I got excited about poker and started playing online shorthanded cash games. I loved the shorthanded action. But now I"m going to university in the beautiful city of Varna in Bulgaria so I"m not quite sure I"m going to play live soon. That's why I"m focusing on NL fr. It's not that much enjoyable but.. oh well I'm winning more there :)

just once: 10 GBP buy-in, 28 people and I finished 2nd! It was first time I ever played any tourney/SNG and finished ITM

It's quite big difference between playing 30 hands per hour and 300-600, so next time only on vacation (only without internet connection in hotel room of course ;))..

You should have a choice of wether you play for a company.
like pub poker.

I play live at least 3 times a week in a poker club the wierd thing is I am in profit live and barely maintaining my bankroll online . Thats why I joined here and i will say my bankroll online is getting less bruised.

Hi, I'm playing online every day and actually I don't have very much succes in building up my bankroll , I'm constantly around $200 (and that includes rakeback), but I went to casino few times and lets just say I managed to earn a couple of my online bankrolls in a very short period.

I only play online right now but would love the opportunity to play live. Its just such a different game and atmosphere plus my dream is to play in Vegas at least once in my lifetime

we have the odd live game at one house or another, once a month maybe. Usually just a €10 buy in 6 handed sng, winner taking all, timing the blind levels on someone's phone

i downloaded the home tournament manager from pokerroom.com and 1 time a month we also have a 100E freezeout at my local bar

After playing online I have no patience for live games =S
Hands go too slowly, misdeals, smoke breaks, etc...
We still play like 6 handed once a month or so.

Yep, we run a weekly home game. :)

I don't think I've ever actually stepped foot inside a casino though!
