Since there is no place to post hands from MTT's, I'll just put it here

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $2.00+$0.20 Tournament, 25/50 Blinds (9 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

MP1 (t6590)
MP2 (t3020)
MP3 (t2245)
CO (t2820)
Button (t2795)
SB (t2560)
BB (t7020)
Hero (UTG) (t2975)
UTG+1 (t3115)

Hero's M: 39.67

Preflop: Hero is UTG with Q, A
Hero raises to t250, 1 fold, MP1 calls t250, 6 folds

Flop: (t575) 10, J, 6 (2 players)
Hero bets t250, MP1 raises to t550, Hero raises to t2725 (All-In), 1 fold

Total pot: t1675

Is there a better way to play this hand???

you played it good
I would of flat called flop and c/c turn
On the river I would bet half the pot or if this bet is greater than 60% of my chips I would push
you have the nut flush, you don't have to protect it. The real way it can be beat is if your opponent hit a full house which is not likely

Hi 1seednoir1,

We have a section for MTT/SnG hands - https://forums.pokerstrategy.com/forum/board.php?boardid=1429

You should raise to 150 (3bb's) preflop. Take note of this, I have seen you raise 5bb's several times ;)

I would then bet out 2/3rds on the flop (playing made hands, drawing hands, and junk hands the same way).

I would then push allin as played. We still have alot of FE here.

we have 18 outs, out of 47 possible cards. (counting overcards as outs)

47/18 = 2.61

So we need 2.61:1 pot odds

The pot is 1375, when we push allin and get a caller the pot becomes 6325.

So we are risking a further 2475, for 6325.

6325/2475 = 2.56

We need 2.61 pot odds, but only have 2.56 pot odds. But we have a whole lot of FE on top of that. As we are the one pushing allin, not calling it.

I hope this is correct, its late :O Hope its readable aswell :/

Best regards,
Stiev

He only has the nut flush draw ;) His hand is not made yet ;)

Thank you very much for you for your reply Cannel (u too rock). Things are more clear to me.
It's not recommended to post 2hands on the same post but this one is the same situation but I did it all wrong. what do you think?

Hi 1seednoir1,

You made a big mistake preflop. If you believe your ahead of his range (which is really unlikely here) you should have pushed preflop.

But I would be interested to see you work out how to play this postflop. On what you think you should have done. Maybe in a similar way as I did. It would be nice to see that you have understood, and have taken the advise to use in the future.

How do you think you should have played it?

Best regards,
Stiev

Yeah, Maybe I need to get things clear first. These draws are killing me.

In this one, I should have called the 2000bet (2BB) which make a total pot of 6400. If he bets 2000again, I make it 6000chips letting him think that I have a made hand (a call from him will generate a 18400chips pot). He would probably check the turn, then I shove with my 8790chips left (6069 for him to call).
Pot odds on turn: 9outs(flush)+5outs(straight)= 11outs
47/11 = 4.27:1 pot odds needed
If I get a call the total would be 30538chips

30538/6069 = 5.03

we need 4.27 and have 5.03 pot odds to shove.

Is that correct?

sorry?... made hand... on this board?!?
I dont think its worth it. A stone cold bluff on a board like this...
You're looking for miracles imho
Your only hope is that he catches an ace, so you can complete your straight
but if he catches an K or Q you're doomed, because you won't let go...
And this is when you know his hand (and he dominates you atm)...
I would def fold flop - don't have the odds to call
you have the odds to call turn, but you invested almost half your stack to get there and you still have 30% equity against him
BUT if you want to raise you should do it on the turn, not on the river
that's just my opinion of course

Hi all,

First hand: cannell555's very first post was right. We should bet more on the flop, and shove when he raises.

Your second hand is way different. In this spot we don't have the flushdraw to go with our hand. Preflop I would have made either a big shove if he's a total maniac, or folded. Against about 99% of players + unknown players, we should fold preflop directly. As played we should have shoved the flop. And as played we should have shoved the turn. We have a ton of fold equity against opponent's hands.

Against most opponents, the bluff on the river is OK (but we should shove it). But against good thinking or braindead opponents (that's 2 categories there! ;)), checking behind is way better.

Man I think you're talking like that just because You already know what he has. The guy was tight. Don't tell me this board was cold for my hand. This was a dream flop for the preflop raise I made. I made that preflop raise to show strength, but didn't have the guts to finish the work. 2400chips in dead money plus 8000chips preflop, and u want me to fold to 2000bet with all these outs??
"BUT if you want to raise you should do it on the turn, not on the river" there is no raise here, I was pot committed. As the judge said or I shove on flop or I shove on turn... and that's what I'll do next time... I'll think of folding preflop too.

No animosity please, this isn't 2+2!

Preflop is pretty leaky play. We shouldn't 3bet light (KQs FR = 3betting light!) against UTG raisers especially. Calling is an option, but I don't like it as much because we have such a small stack:pot ratio to play with.
