Hey guys

Here's the breakdown of my new Coaching series starting this week, please post all hands and discussion here

I will also put links to the video podcasts if/when they're released.

Podcasts:

Time Slot and Level: 19:00CET every Friday, Gold (4 weeks). Advanced Players playing 1/2+

Value Proposition: Many players are very comfortable in single raised pots but 3-bet pots, especially out of position and/or without initiative are very difficult to play especially if you don't want to give your range away.I'll explore the factors, mathematics and use example hands to show my points and also some unorthodox plays, especially from the blinds, which can make play much easier

Week 1: Entering the Third Floor Ranges for 3-betting Preflop and Examining the Unique Situation of Being in the Big Blind. Additionally Explore the Mathematics of 3-bet pots such as "Stacking Bluffs" and calling frequencies

Week 2: A Familiar Feeling Playing In Position vs a 3-betting Range. Examine the "always call on flop when continuing strategy". How wide should we be bluffing on the turn, what exploitative measures can we take?

Week 3: Tension Rising Playing Out of Position vs a 3-betting Range. Examine both check-raising and adjustments we need to make to balance our range correctly now that we are almost forced to split it

Week 4: All Out Warfare Multi-Way 3-bet situations. Mainly a concept from the Big Blind. Examine how best we can protect our hand on board textures and whether we should adapt a "Raise or Fold" strategy or something more intricate.

Then here are some hands for the coaching from your beloved 'pokerfiend' :

#1

Hero(MP3) opens A :spade:K :spade: and gets 3bet by the BU

___flop_____turn__river

J :spade:T :spade:9 :club: | 2 :club: | 3 :club:

#2

Hero(CO) opens K :club:Q :club: and gets 3bet by the BU

___flop_____turn__river

T :heart:9 :club:7 :club: | Q  | K

There are only two players on the flop and, villain bets down in both cases unless you x/r him. Whats the best way to play these hands ? Do you call down ? x/r somewhere ? What do you do if villain plays back at you ?

OMG, are we still in the programming business? I would like to know how to play these hands against lags, tags, regs, fish and so on, with reads. Without that it's like a course in writing a poker program at the uni. Please tell me we will have reads in the hands!

Oh well , no pain no gain man. But I also have to say that I like such analyses , I am an engineer and this also some sort of planning, so I rather enjoy it.

Hope you guys enjoyed it this week

Apologies for the slight mix up on the last hand but I think we got through it and at least I got a conclusion out there :)

HOMEWORK:

Post, in this thread, hands where you were in position in a 3-bet pot and had difficulties

Also what would you like to see me play live during the series? (100/200 6-max won't be done!!)
