Was there any point of this hand when I would have been better of playing it less aggressively or giving it up?

Why invest a lot of money pre flop, trying to kick players out of the hand with a speculative hand that won't hit that often when you can just call, play multiway for a low price with a lot of implied odds in case we hit?

We shouldn't bluff, because we want that situation, and we can't raise for value because we don't have a value hand yet.

Imo you should've just called pre-flop and played carefully post flop since KQ is ahead of us, any two diamonds are ahead and other hands could have a lot of outs to improve like AQ, KJ, JJ....

on the turn you are screwed, you will have like 0-50% almost always. probably bet flop at a sizing that allows you to x/f turns like this :f_biggrin:

I think I would call this pre flop. Small suited connectors are ok multiway. Sometimes we can bluff squeeze with these hands (but I prefer to do it with even weaker suited gappers). OTF your cbet is too big in my opinion. You will get the same fold equity with smaller size and now you will commit yourself and also isolate yourself against super strong range. OTT you have so little left that maybe there is no other move than go all in but you must understand that with possible flush out there and any J making a straight your hand doesn't look that good.

Well, your hand is perfect for calling preflop and playing mw. Do not like the squeeze.
I will cbet smaller on flop.
On turn xf.

Yup. Exactly the hand you don't want to get HU OOP with in a big pot. 76s is the best small suited connector (better than e.g. 98s for technical reasons), and  is one of the best suits to play=)

I agree with calling preflop. Squeezing should not be bad, though, I don't mind it. As played, I would probably bet the flop smaller and check/fold this turn.

I would have called the 67s pre. Our hand has excellent postflop expectations.

I was following some charts and it said to call with 87s but 3bet with 76s :f_ugly:

la55i, Alleen86 & nitrol - what sizing do you guys recommend to CBet flop with?

I personally like the squeeze as a deviation from the standard call. I usually want a reason to do it though, like stats such as "fold to 3B", "cold-calls", ect... In a vacuum, as played I like your sizing PF. I would've bet around $1.10 on the flop, and honestly would C/F turn. I don't like shoving, because I don't think any other hand you beat is calling (except maybe a really stubborn AK/Q w/ Ad), and I only see a rare A6s/76s and 66 tying you, and I think A6s and 66 folds OTF unless it has the Ad or 6d respectively, and 76s probably raises. I know the thought that runs through the mind is that you risk being bluffed out by taking your foot off the gas OTT, but that's a hard bet for your opponents to make into two others who have shown that much interest in the pot and have a good chunk of their stacks invested. Not a fun spot OTT, that's for sure. :ayfkm:

In 3bet pots around 1/2 pot cbet should be fine. Now the board is very scary and I think we will get the same amount of folds with smaller size so I would cbet about 40%. And if villain calls on this board, we are done.

so are you bluffing otf with this hand? it's still a strong hand which is most likely good otf but the turn card matters a lot.

I think we could bluff this flop since it generates a lot of fold equity but it is one and done. Fourth diamond would kill the action totally.

I'm betting the flop for value and to charge draws. If the turn is a blank I think I do shove, because his range still includes the draws that now have lost a lot of equity, as well as sets, clingy two-pair hands and JJ/QQ (and that stubborn AK/Q w/ Ad). You're going to run into flopped straights (although they may raise the flop) and flushes sometimes, but basically I think his calling range has more hands in it that he may not be able to let go of, than in the actual hand where the board was so coordinated, to make a shove +EV. Amazing what one card can do. :wtf:

1/2 is enough, not only because it is 3b pot, but cause you do not need to pump the pot much on mono board.

1. We have a straight.
2. Mono boards are scary and we can cbet them a lot.
3. There are 1diamond hands that can call too.
