Does anyone else have hands that they have won/lost and never forgotten?
This was the last hand of a tournament I was in approximately 4 years ago.
Can't remember the platform (possibly Full Tilt) and don't have the hand history anymore, unfortunately.
Dealt: A:c 9:s
We were both pretty evenly stacked. Pre-flop I made a standard raise which he called.
Flop: J:s T:s Q:s
Continuation bet was also called, after a delay.
Turn: 8:s
I made a pot-size bet here which he raised to double the pot.
I re-raised to which he pushed.
Called instantly and he showed A:s 4:d (and seeing my cards said "wow, vnh.")
98% favourite, crossed fingers and closed eyes.
River: K:s
Finished 2nd with a king high straight flush.
Think I stopped playing for a few weeks after that.
Early lesson that "bad beats happen and are part of the game."
In fact, I think I hardly tilt because of that hand.
"4 Kings losing against 4 Aces? That isn't as bad as this hand I had once a few years ago..."
