maybe try the equilator a little bit and look at your equity against possible hands, it can really help you to get a feeling about your remaining equity and why this is a no brainer call.

Does the ratio of potsize: my remaining stack make a difference in knowing when to call? Any tips here?

the better pot odds you need less equity to call, so yes, the ratio is very important there. not in this hand because is a no brainer call.
