What is a RSA Security Token?

A RSA Security Token is a piece of hardware issued by PokerStars, in addition to your password. Once a RSA Security Token is enabled for your account, you will be required to enter your RSA Security Passcode every time you login.

The RSA Security Passcode is a combination of two elements:

      1. Your four-digit RSA Security PIN followed by

      2. The six-digits currently displayed on the window of your RSA Security Token.

Note that the RSA Security PIN is not related to your PokerStars PIN.

The use of the RSA Security Token enhances account security by providing two-factor authentication, requiring you to have ‘something you know’ (your PokerStars password and RSA Security PIN) and ‘something you have’ (your RSA Security Token).

This feature is a strong defense against keyloggers and unauthorized people accessing your account.

What do you think about that?
It's not for free as you have to pay 6,000 FPP for that ($60-$96 depending on your VIP status), but it's definetely worth that money if you're regular here and you are going to stay here in the future.

      Your opinions?

Did they finally introduce it? :)

      GREAT !! :D

I think Stars will be the safest place to store my BR, so it'll probably end up there (instead of moneybookers).

Now I only need to play enough there. ;)

I think the price is a bit to high. Such RSA Tokens aren't that expensive.

6.000 FPP is just way to much.

However this will increase the security enormously. So I will purchase such a token if I'm sure that I will stay at Stars.

      It's too expensive I agree...

Maybe it should be available for free but for higher ranks (gold+ maybe), because I wouldn't send it to millions of recreational micro stakes players.. Too expensive campaign for them ;)

I don't think that the RSA should be for free.

But it should only cost around ~1500-2500 FPP. Around $20-$35 should be a nice price.

We'll see maybe it will be cheaper in the future.

Well, sounds like fair price. I'm going to buy it but I doubt it's good invest opportunity for players with $500 bankroll... 6000 FPP is just too much...

just to add: In case You want it and don't have enough FPPs, You can contact support and they will deduct some money from Your account (depends on Your VIP level - from 60$ to 96$) and give You FPPs to order it.

I'd love to have that thingy, I actually emailed them a couple of weeks ago and had the shop item released 3 weeks ago. But it takes time to grind out 6k FPP at the micros, and on my way there I usually spend them for something else. So I still don't have it. 2k FPP and I'd insta-buy fo sho.

I think I'm not going to buy this until my BR isn't over 5k or something.

Till then the PokerStars PIN login system should be enough security.

Best way would be to send the pin with air mail like a shop article or something.

I've printed out the email and deleted it immediately.
