I am outside of UK but know him very very well as I was interested in psychology / NLP / magic some years ago .. His shows are pretty nice and motivating, but you need to take them with reserve (please dont try to walk the streets and have someone give you his watch :f_biggrin: )

Especially I like the show called "The System" (search youtube), as it is less "mystery" and more maths ..

Anyway, whatever you think of his shows, I would really recommend some NLP knowledge to everyone in the world, it definitely makes you life and relationships better

I watched the russian roulette on youtube knowing nothing happened but was still scared

Will like to see how he does with the lottery though, he going live on loads of channels here so if he gets it wrong he will look like a bit of a tit

this guy is amazing

i'm a huge fan of his work, but -like someone already pointed out- don't forget he's an illusionist...
he's undoubtedly a very intelligent and creative, highly schooled individual and the NLP/psychology/suggestion approach of his act sure is amazing, but more often than not, this is just a smoke screen to hide the (often traditional) illusions and tricks.
haven't heard about him predicting the lottery, but i can tell you right now that he won't make the numbers public before the draw, so he won't actually predict anything.
can't wait for the episode where he scams the casino though... :P

and yes...
the system!!! everybody here will enjoy it!

In one episode Derren taught an elderly woman, who had never played poker before, how to read people extremely accurately. She played a 1000 GBP 6max SNG with some pro's and she took second place. All of her reads on her opponents hands were good, and she played pretty darn well. It's on youtube somewhere.

Another interesting video is how he counted cards in Blackjack.

Quite an amusing fella, I must say.

Yeah he's definately a great illusionist, but don't get sucked in, most of it is really mindblowing until it's revealed how he does it, and it's actually ludicrously simple. It's not magic, it's just intelligence.

Sounds rigged imo. I think national lottery should check there RNG

Nah its real life so its even more rigged

Joking obviously!

So how did he do it? Can't find any info yet on the web.

well if you put digital watch like screens on the balls and record the film from a distance you can very well change the numbers on the balls remotely... Why does he show after the balls drop ? Don't waste your time with such stupid things... They just try to make people gamble more...

simple camera trick, its called a split screen image. While Derren is watching the lottery, what you see on the other half of the screen isnt live footage of the 'predicted' balls, it is a prerecorded image. In reality somebody else is putting the correct balls on the stand while you are watching the prerecorded image, just like the movie Oceans eleven and dozens of other robbery movies. If you watch the balls very closely they appear to change position just before Derren walks back to them, when the live feed on that half of the screen begins again.

Some Estonian "David Coperfield" made the same trick bout 2 years ago, nothing special, simple trick (i'm pretty sure).

Naive crowd was funny though.

This is obviously rigged! By the method he claimed to have done it, it would be near impossible to produce a prediction such as 2 which he claim to have done. What he was doing was asking 24 people to pick a number from 1 to 49, finding the average and then using that as his pick. But how can you get an average of 2 from 24 numbers from 1 to 49, unless everyone picked 1's 2's 3's and 4's etc. which obviously very unlikely. All the numbers you get from this method are going to be in the middle region which was shown in the first show when most of the numbers they got right were in the 20's and a few just out of that region.

So this stunt was clearly some illusion/camera trick, but i do think this guy is amazing!
