A recent conviction has now made it clear that online poker is 100% illegal to profit from.

will pokerstrategy still offer starting capital to danish players?

That sucks, hopefully it won't also help in many other countries.

It's only illegal if you play it for a living.

But this conviction is so emberrasing for our country. It's so extremely old fashioned and narrow minded. It's ok to use everything you own on the stock market, but poker is a no-go. How sad.

Bonus info: The law in question was introduced in Denmark in 1912 :)

And how do they check it?

Don't know. What they don't know won't hurt them.

If you make a decent money then don't tell anyone. Not yet at least. The first Danish party has already said that the rule has to be changed. Unfortunately the party in question has no power what so ever :(

wow thats such a weird ruling. How do they determine whether you are profiting? :f_eek: :f_confused:

The guy in question had cashed out 194.000DKK as far as I understand. (roughly $36k)

do its okay for danish fish to play, but not danish sharks.

thats just awesome. :)

New law, which goes to act in 2010, will probably forbid Estonian players to play at platforms which's servers aren't situated in Estonia. Unfortunately there are no poker platforms situated in Estonia. That means that I have to withdraw all my online moniez this year and see what will happen in next year.

But, Olympic Casino (estonian biggest live casino) has announced that they will make online poker (gambling) platform in 2010. Sadly it may come with age limit of 21.

all of these regulations are just there because the governments can't stand watching foreign companies profiting off their citizens without having to pay them any tax.

once they figure out how to tax online poker sites, i'm sure these restrictions will be lifted.
