enemaze, care to explain why do you think this situation is good for resteal?

Against a LAG i figured i had good FE because of his wide range and he still can get away from this hand. Also my outs are usually live :X
I still have a bigstack behind me, but he'd have to have a monster to call a shove here. 3betting here is pretty stupid since almost any 3bet commits him, and i gain maximum FE by shoving.

Im assuming i identified the situation correctly, just my hand is too crappy and this move is too high risk given the strength of my hand.

Generally speaking,what is the default resteal range you recommend?

#1 to resteal u got to have FE. Here u dont have FE. when guy on BTN open raise for 20% of his stack u dont see fold very often to steal. Specialy not in 2.2$ 180 turbo ( if he is good player he will just open shove on BTN with that stack with almoust any 2 card except big hands, if he is bad he is not folding very often in that spot) so u cant find fold there when u shove.
If u 2 have like 10k+ stacks u can resteal with 3 bet u can raise to 2k-2.3k, or if he have 7k+ stack u can resteal with shove , but not in this spot

#2 ur hand is too crappy, if situation like #1 came u can resteal with very wide range ex: A2s+,A8+, KQ+, any 2 suted broadway cards 22-66( i prefer stop and go)77-aa, suted conectors 76s+ etc......the key is to have FE and #2 u hand had to have some showdown value (u'll get called sometimes :))) with 97o and those stack u dont have FE u dont have showdown value

I agree somewhat with Rebuz, although I do think you have some fold equity, but you certainly dont have a hand that you want to see a call with.
I am making the assumption that this is not FT due to size of the blinds, so my question is this. Why would you risk your whole stack and therefore your tournament on a complete guess / bluff with over 20 big blinds left? Its just not necessary and just looks like a fancy play.

My gut told me he didnt have much (funny enough i was right :P), and i usually play by my reads. It may sound stupid/fishy, but im sure a lot of people can relate

your stack is good enough to keep playing.
so i would only resteal with good hands or with suited connectors like 89s where your equity against alot of hands is good.
but 79o... thats a pure bluff out of nowhere with no pressure.
too risky.
