i think this is good but im not sure. i would push TT+ and AK+ here against a loose limper.

you have to be a little bit careful because you are kind of playing a bubble strategy with UTG being only 1bb deep but TT is too strong to fold with only 2bb behind. if you had a larger stack with more of a gap between you and UTG i would be leaning more towards folding

Kind of confused by wanting to shove with the tens here. Could we not expect the call from MP and just get out of the way? It's not like our raise is going to scare him off, and I didn't think TT would hold up very well against two players.

Plus UTG is going to essentially be all in next hand too, so why not just wait it out and make cash?

except that the gap between us and UTG is only 400 chips.
folding TT here would be pretty stupid if UTG managed to double up next hand and we were left with 1bb UTG the hand after that.

so if we can safely say that MP is limping ATC or close to then TT should be a decent spot to get it in here. and TT plays well 3 way when our opponents ranges should be close to ATC.

its a tough spot. im interested in other opinions

For the reasons you suggest, I take my chance here. We are vulnerable, and as you know, just because there are two players shorter than us now, the result of this hand and the next can change that.

We have 500 chips in this pot. If SB wins this and UTG doubles up next hand, we are shorty with no prospects. On balance, I like our hand in this pot.

i agree acid, but i dont think im getting it in with much worse. AJ i fold and 77 definitely. 88/99 and AQo are very close.

Actually it is possible to just call here, with this hand even, and any two cards for that matter, for only 50 chips. We can assume the MP bigstack is one of those passive fish who gets lucky and has this stack as a result, and he just calls the 50 chips as well. Might not be correct, but in any case there is no reason to fold preflop here.

If we just call, and MP is the passive type, we may get his "cooperation" in busting SB if the right sort of board comes down. We may then take it down, or MP may bet us out postflop, but it is certainly worthy of consideration, upon further reflection.

Providing SB doesn't actually win this hand, we are then in good shape against the other shorty to take third place, as his chips are AI in the next two hands. And putting all our chips in now doesn't help us against SB if he is better at showdown.

What do you think about that as an option?

definitely a good option, especially because MP cant even legally raise because the SB did not put in a legal raise. therefore he can only call the extra 50 and not raise us pre.

i do think this puts us in awkward spots post flop if an overcard comes out. we might get forced out of the hand while holding the best hand, and this is horrible for us.

Nice hand well played. We're too far ahead of everyone's ranges to just call here. Assuming SB loses, we're the shortstack on the bubble anyway.

Remember our shove range isn't that wide though because we can just call and check it town with MP with our mediocre hands.

Chenny did you see the UTG stack size? He's about to get blinded out, so we aren't really the shortstack on the bubble...
I still like my push after all, because if either SB or UTG doesn't get knocked out we are in a VERY bad position.

Wow I read the stack as 1740 (instead of "t740"). In that case I think calling and checking it down is slightly better. You will win the pot this way very often anyway if he is limping preflop with a wide range (assuming he doesn't do any suicidal bluffs postflop).
