Villain played a bluffy LAG style

What line would you take in this hand?

Thanks

Something is wrong with post:view ratio imo :f_p:

Why do you call the Flop cr?
Seems pointless since we´re could easily drawing dead or very very slim.
I´d just fold flop. If you got a very very special history of cr bluffs etc. you could take this line (or even rr the cr) but i would´t recommend this on low stakes.

Past history with villain, he played a very bluffy style and had been making constant plays at me on this type of board texture so folding seemed to weak.

Advice from coach: fold to every raise on a paired board in a HU match holding a pocket pair. This will bring you profit.

Din´t say any.
Need a bit more history except Laggy/Bluffy style. Every pair above 8 every single 9 and any K beats us and we´re drawing slim.

Here was my thought process throughout the hand, not sure why I didn't post it, prob forgot / tired :f_frown:
and I'm not good at giving reads, I can't get them across properly so i just use very basic terms and try to make up for it with my thought process :f_frown:

Villain played LAG, bluffed fairly often.

Flop is an easy float given his bluffy tendencies and it also looks super strong when I just call so I don't think he will continue betting the turn unless he has K***, K9** or 99** IMO

Turn brings an interesting card, my plan was to bet or fold most cards but the K :diamond: changes things. If he bets i'm calling and probably calling the river if he bets (spewy? I don't know) As played he checks and I think it's standard to check back and induce a river bluff

River = boom, plan successfully executed.

Sorry for not posting this earlier.

Yes, thats better. I'd like if you posted as much insight as possible in your evaluations, it makes it easier to understand how we should think in a certain HU situations. For example, it would be cool if you explained how we could use flop reraise or, for instance, turn raise if those were higher stakes OR better opponents.

Ok let´s put it this way: In a vacuum i don´t like the Flopline.
Put "Laggy&Bluffy&Co" aside an and figure out what we´re dealing with.
We´ve got two pair 88** on a KK9 board. Plus an ace in our hand for a possible A8** on a KKA board. We ´re beaten by any K**, any 9** and pocket pair above TT. We could easily be outdrawn by the Turn if a 9,T,J,Q Hits. If a K hits we could be gaining equity or be drawing dead. So we´re forced to make a play which gains more money vs the range that we beat (air like Abbb maybe w/ a Flush draw to go with it and lower pockets) than the play against the range that beats us looses (Any K** and Poket pair >TT). [Does this sentence make sense? I hope so ;)]
And since your call reviled so much strength + we practically have to call him down a K board... this seems kind of a hard path.
[But just cause it fits: The way you solved by not putting in too much money and using your read....Imo you took the perfect line from there]

Maybe just to complete the possible Turn analysis: Any card >7 that hits, except an 8 could hits lower pockets or can complete a possible FD. I don´t want to be to much of a pessimist but would you bet money on 2 save cards and a random dozen out of 41 remaining in the Deck?
[24 card of all remaining 7 and below cards in the Deck minus the :club:s and possible sets and what not.....to lazy to calq. it all out ;). Just as an assumption we may have ~11-14 "good cards" vs 30-27 "bad ones"]

My English teacher often used the phrase "to put it in a nutshell", so this is what i´m going to do:
If we just rely on a read thats not a real thoughtfull one we maybe tend to forget a more logical POY.

€: Sry if this is just a bunch of wirred toughs! Hand is buggy me all day...

Finally an awesome analysis, thanx :f_biggrin:

Thankyou sir for the in depth analysis, makes more sense now. ^^

What's the weakest hand you would float with here?

there are a ton of better options like any flush draw, AA-TT, 9*** etc

if ur floating this hand ur basically saying that

a) ur floating here w/ like 80-90% of ur cbetting range

and b) that ur completely relying on the fact that villain will check and fold on further streets (which just is not the case)

id either float with showdown value and/or equity against bluffs (A88, even tho being "showdown value" still has very crappy equity because he might c/r overcards as a bluff and we cant really calldown any non improving turn card)

i think if ur floating that light ur actually playing a bit into his gameplan

Ty sir

I didn't realise this hand would turn out to be so interesting (for me atleast) nice :f_grin:
