I would just call the flop your hand is not wery strong so call the flop and fold to any further action

Very villain specific.

If villain had hitherto seemed loose/reckless then I'd call.

If villain had seemed straightforward then perhaps fold but getting almost 2:1 for your money it is close. The problem is that there are plenty of 8-x type hands that have pretty good equity on this flop so if you are ahead here you may not be a huge favourite anyway. Having said this a passive villain will never play A8(for example) like this and you can fold.

Reads help a lot in this situation.


he was a guy folding folding the blind to me . i fold and he showed a 7 ... and told me "stop bulling me " :)

Hi aanty2000!

I think it is better to call his $0.40 bet and not to raise it. Which worse hands would call your raise? Not many. Imo a call for pot control is better. On the turn you have to reevaluate.
