0.25/0.5 Fixed-Limit Hold'em (9 handed)
Hand recorder used for this poker hand: Elephant 0.90 by www.pokerstrategy.com.

Preflop: Hero is BB with Q♦, 8♥
5 folds, CO calls, 2 folds, Hero checks.

Flop: (2.40 SB) 8♦, 6♥, 5♣ (2 players)
Hero bets, CO raises, Hero calls.

Turn: (3.20 BB) 9♣ (2 players)
Hero checks, CO bets, Hero calls.

I'm not sure what to do in this situation. Call-down can beat only a bluff or 8x. Folding isn't that great also.

River: (5.20 BB) 3♠ (2 players)
Hero checks, CO bets, Hero calls.

3 is blank. If i went with call-down before, i can't fold now.
Final Pot: 7.20 BB

well played! against an unknown i would have called down as well as you can't be certain whether he runs on a bluff or does even bet a worse pair like T8 J8 A6 or something like that. especially when you showed weakness on a previous hand the call is fine.

when you have picked a read that is not the type of guy who randomly come up with aggression a check/fold becomes a viable line on the river but the turncall is mandatory.
