For me, I like to minraise because it looks weak and invites a reraise (which is what we want, right?).
Against a non-super-aggressive opponent, a raise to $4 looks good to me. You don't want to give a free card, but you want to milk the pot as much as you can.

T94 with 2 clubs is one of those flops where there are a ton of draws out there. We very likely have the best hand but typically we're not going to be a huge favourite. At best it's 2-1.

We are in position, so we're looking to set up a situation where we get stacks in by the turn. The reason for this is our opponent is very likely on a draw since we hold T99 on a T94 flop.
He will not put money into the pot on the river once the draw has missed.

So we have $22 left to put in on the flop, divide by 3. This gives us a figure of $7. This is how much we need to put in roughly on the flop to get stacks in on the turn. In other words, pot flop, pot turn.

28 of the cards in the deck put either a straight or flush up on the board without us improving.

So only by potting the flop do we give ourselves a chance to stack off against aces that might otherwise be scared of the draw should it hit the turn.

So I believe we have to pot because there are so many "action killers" on the turn and we have to try and get stacks in before the river because it's likely opponent is on a draw.

Now of course if you're against a true maniac. We can call flop, call turn call river and we will be all in by the river assuming the maniac is betting full pot the whole time.

Obviously this will put you in tough decisions from time to time when draws hit, but when you improve to a full house money will be going in while you're 95%+ to win usually.

I guess we're happy with this result, it's just how marginal we are here on the flop v the FD + Pair + GS. I guess this is about the worst hand we should expect to be up against, but shoving middle set + blocker for 200bb seemed overly reckless. Still finding my feet I guess.

What do you mean overly reckless? I'd do it again, a 57-43 flip works for me.

Should also be pointed out that neither player should be folding this and opponent was right to shove flop OOP. wp all round.
