Hi Anssi,

When I am in spots like that, it depends on my opponents and the board if I will lead with my set or go for check / raise or slow play.

On dry board vs aggressive opponents I am more inclined to fat call flop even. On DH flop vs aggressive or unknown, I opt for check / raise most of the time. In my experience, most of the unknowns put you on FD when you check / raise in such a spot and therefore call you light.

On the other hand, If you are playing a solid reg and he know you are a reg, he may realize what you are doing if you go for check / raise. If this is the case, I may go for smallish block bet / 3bet shove.

In your case. I would probably go for check / raise. With re-raise to 288 Villain is getting 1 to 3.4 on a call you are pricing almost every draw. If you believe that he is over aggressive / spewy and may 3bet light make sense for smallish re-raise, since he will perceive that he has fold equity over you. The problem is that there are a lot of problematic turn cards if he cold calls.

In general I would re-raise around 420-520 and ship blank turn.

I think I'd lead here unless I feel BornSurvivor is going to take a stab if checked to him (which I don't think he is if he misses this board). It's pretty hard to get a lot of action from the two regulars specially oop so I'd try to get involved with the fish, and betting seems the best way to make him pay for a draw, 2nd pair etc.

edit: I'm taking BornSurvivor and fagrello as regs, never saw the other guy but it's so reg infested he might be one as well? ♦

I think cashgame players would try to balance the lead range here a little bit by bet/shoving monsters and strong draws. stack/pot ratio is better for bet/shoving then check/shoving imo.

definitely think leading here with these stack sizes is good . you can easily balance by leading weak Qx and draws and if someone is going to bet/call your c/r he is also going to raise/call your bet/shove so leading should get you more value from marginal hands that will often just check behind. if someone is going broke on this board c/r or bet/call wont make much of a difference imo. we are just aiming to get max value from all those more marginal hands.
