What is our range for shoving over and going broke? JJ+ and Ak?
imo 77-TT has same value for shoving as JJ in this spot vs his range imo, with only 1 advantage (for JJ/TT) that you have blockers for str8 if he have AK/AQ and they can't be contra field with better 2 pairs (and thats why they have bigger EQ vs his range) cos I dont think that random villains will do this play often enough with hand worse than TT+ AQs/AK so basicly when you shove you have beat only his unpaired hands and very rarely villains will show up with TT
so on low limits in spots like this cos we r getting ~2:1 pot odds for a call preflop I prefer to over shove QQ+,AK fold AQ/AQs and make stop and go with 77-JJ on flops without A/K ,
best flop for that play should be Qxy (x,y<=9)
so imo u can make your range like this
- shoving range preflop QQ+, AK, red and black (dh/cs) TT/JJ
- calling range 77-JJ ,red and black (dh/cs) KK/AA
- shoving on flop (if A/K dint hit) all calling range preflop except AA/KK and sets
so sometimes u check/fold on board like Kxx with 88 and sometimes you check/call your set/over pair on those kind of boards
don't like calling 77-10/10 and then shoving on flops without a/k. You don't get value from aq or ak and you are isolating yourself against everything that has you beat.
i just fold 77-10/10 in that spot.
