Hello

i am a pokerstrategy enthusiast and midstakes STT artist. This 2011 I am going to attempt to survive with poker as my only form of income while studying full time. Honestly, i give myself 3 to 4 months before im on the streets beggin 4 monez, and would consider lasting 6 months a pretty big achievement. Great mindset i know but we'll hope 4 the best.

Anyhow, this is a place to lay down thoughts and keep track of progress/regress. Any feedback on anythong, especially psychological aspects of playing 4 a living- good, bad or medium, is appreciated.

2011 Goals

[ ] 10k games
[ ] reach the 55's
[ ] comfortably pass my courses
[ ] keep a healthy mindset and schedule
[ ] keep the blog
[ ] have fun x2

I enjoy reading every1 else's monthly reviews so ima start doing the same.
and so it begins....

Happy to have a good month results wise.

But used my time very inefficiently as usual and struggled to put in decent volume, only playn 30-40 games/day. I purchased some black market ritalin's to increase my focus and attention during long hours of grinding which helped a bit, but snorting ritz each day cannot be good for the body. So i think ill lay off those once i run out, and try to grind the old fashioned way.

good luck on that ridiculous cyclone tonight QLD

January Numbers

Games Played: 635
Avg Buyin: $25.24
Length: 65.1 hours
Rake: $1353

Winnings: $1415.70 + $365.31 rakeback - $307.44 backer+coaching = $1473.57
$/hr: $22.64

ROI: 8.8% 17.7%

now I'm glad I've managed to dodge your tables thus far with some table selecting :P

Man think long term.. That stuff is bad for your body, mind and brain... Might help you for a minute but it will slow you down in the future...

Thx tskille, moving to Queensland to study if its not flattened.

My laptop cant handle long sessions either. it packs a sad, overheats and crashes almost everyday, losing all my bigstacks on the bubble obv X(, and its tilting the hell outa me.
Havnt come up with any solutions yet that dont cost an arm and/or leg.

Hey! Just wanted to pop by and say hi. I'll be following your blog, not because I am a SNG-player but because I intend to support myself from June on with poker (at least as part of the income, hopefully most of it).

Have you considered not playing long sessions but playing shorter ones more frequently? I am by no means good when it comes to computers but if you give it time to cool off inbetween that should help at least a bit?

Anyways GL with moving and all that! :)

thanks vonki, thats good idea, i did that 2day with it propped up on some books (kill everyone and secrets of sng's 2 b precise) so it could get a bit of airflow underneath and had no trouble with the lappy, just a couple internet disconnections.

cheers stevegold hoping the rabbit brings a bit of luck for us this year, has so far

Played in god mode today and had my sickest day ever by far.
a cooool 67% over 50 games, super duper stoked! please continue...

You should try to dust clean your laptop... It'll make it run a little bit smoother and you should be able to do it yourself.. if not it shouldn't be that expensive..
if there's a lot of dust in your heatsink cleaning it might solve the problem.

As Hlynkinn said, dust clean it with compressed air. I have to do that almost every 3 months :( One other thing I have is a laptop cooler pad, if the dust cleaning doesn't help you can always try that. Mine was like 25e or something.

Sick graph indeed, is that just turbo's or reg speed as well?

I will do that, it is looking a bit dusty, cheers.

There's about 90 reg speeds in that graph the rest are turbos, really good when u have space on the screen and a bunch of regs are loading up on the turbos, softer too.

I find a vacuum cleaner works pretty well.

made the move but fook was it a nightmare,

bad beat after beat combined with poor preparation and organisation lead to a very stressful couple of days.
the trip began with us having to quickly dump a bunch of stuff at the airport because we couldnt afford the overweight luggage tax. so if anyones looking for some shoes, clothes, books (incl secrets of sngo's) or a wetsuit check out the christchurch airport bins, but get in quick.

my laptop wont register the new broadband stick but the gf's old piece of a laptop does, so f all poker will get played over the next week or so, :f_cry:

Me also. No need to buy c. air can. Just vacuum where hot air leaves comp. I also protect with my both hands area around it, to keep fan inside laptop spinning.

Oh that sucks man, I know the stress of that. But seriously, you threw stuff away in the garbage bins? Man I don't think I could ever do that, but I guess you have no choice when you can't afford to pay for the extra weight.

One time when I flew with Ryanair, I had to put like 5 layers of clothing on to reduce the weight. And then had to remove them all again at the security check :F

Your blog makes you seem like a normal person and not the true degen you are. I like the anti drug advice, although the rintins are the least of your concern.

When do you start hitting the books? Suppose you have to go kill o-week first.

Good reading though, keep the bloggin up. Hope shit is going well in Aus, will hopefully be over in the next few months for a visitation.

Checked out a bunch of flats over the week and decided on the cheapest and smallest room. It's close to uni, only gonna cost me about 2 buy-ins/week and we all know size doesnt matter.

Moved in yesterday. need to get a bed, desk, chair, monitor and internet then get back on that pony. enjoyed the break from the game but keen to get back into it soon and hopefully earn some coin.

Decided I want to add the odd $20-$100 mtt (proly sat into $50+) into my sessions. I want to keep the dream of that big score alive and i def rate my mtt game to be at least break even. Not sure if i wanna sell any of that action yet.

chur chur hairynupe, switching countries has forced a stop to the extra curricular amphetamines, and becoming a straight edge law abiding citizen feels good sam, you should try it some time.

Class starts 8am Monday, ;( proly wont make it....
