I have two answers for you here 
No - Allows you to focus more on your game/learning/spotting fish and allows you to have a higher win rate in terms of bb/100
Yes - Allows you to play more hands/hour, which might give a lower winrate (in terms of bb/100) but gives a higher hourly rate. also useful if you play on a site with a good VIP program (such as stars/tilt). Bad for learning, should only be done if your already crushing a limit.
When multi tabling, keep an eye on your red line, as this is where alot of mass tablers seem to spew money
