Hero checks, Button bets $3.00, Hero raises to $9.00, 1 folds

Final Pot: $15.79

i called in order to check raise him . he had a wide button opening range and i think he would fold if i shoved pre

just make it 5$, that makes his opening raise on the flop bigger.

I typically 4-bet, but calling is also fine.

I dont like just calling, because a lot of times worse hands are let into the flop and they can finally hit a set and make you lose all your money. If he folds before the flop, let it be and take that money. I prefer to 4-bet with AA and KK

With aces and kings I don't want to have trouble with the flop play, so I would seriously reraise pre-flop.

That's obviously not the case here, but it's very difficult to fold an overpair after the flop, you feel kind of commited to your hand - and sometimes it ends up not being the best hand, that's why we must filter the ground pre-flop with a raise.

And on flop if somebody called before we bet pot.. usually they fold :)

At least that's my way to play overpairs, I don't pretend it is the best one, but this way I avoid situations like aces cracked by two pair, tens and eights for example..

I would check-raise only if i had a set of aces.
