Could I possibly fold on the river? The only reasonable hand that beated me was 99, optionally 22, since he called my big bet on the flop.

His hand obviously looked very strong after the shove(low stakes rush poker is very straight forward) , but I couldnt find any way he has a 9 there unless it was 99 which was hardly possible.
After all he had 49. I am always confused why would anybody want to play such a hand at rush poker, moreover on the first level of blinds, without a position.
Have I made a good decision?
