:diamond: Vildcz's Pursuit of Perfection - from SNGs to cash games :diamond:

Greetings fellow pokerstrategist, welcome to my blog full of my fishy opinions, whining and other nonsense. I won't introduce myself, because I did it my old blog. I recommend you to avoid this blog as often as possible, ideally stop reading now!

Intro

So there I am, lying in my bed and thinking about my life and other boring stuff. I really need a change, I mean a REAL change, not like the Obama's change (the only thing he has changed was his underwear, maybe not even that).

Day 1

Ok, so where to start? I know, I'll have my head shaved! Nice change, I feel great despite the fact that my mom keeps telling me all day that I look like a moron. But I feel it's not the change I've been looking for.

Day 2

After another streak of bad beats in SNGs I decided to try the MSS. As I wrote in my previous blog, I work for PS as a freelance translator and I'm currently working on the SSS/MSS section. Naturally I was curious and tried the MSS. So I'm seriously thinking about switching to cash games. On the other hand I think I'm a winning player in SNGs and I've already put a lot of effort into learning ICM. I think I'll stay where I am.

Day 3

I'm browsing the forum 'staking offers'. Dunno why because I don't need staking. And there I see an offer, that Gerv is looking for students. Worth a try. After discussing the details via skype I'm hesitating but in the end I agree. I think I made a good decision. The real change is here!

Now I have to set some goals, that would keep me motivated:

SHORT TERM

:diamond: Beat NL10
:diamond: watch at least 2 videos/day
:diamond: stop 3betting TT against a nit in early position and remove other retarded stuff
:diamond: read my goals every day!

LONG TERM

:diamond: continuously improve my game
:diamond: acquire the black card
:diamond: beat every limit I'll be playing at
:diamond: become a black member

Respect if you read it until here, here's the reward for your patience - BEHOLD, my new poker hat, real Doyle Brunson style

Spoiler

Wish me luck, I'll keep you updated :)

haha, that´s a huge lol hand T2o made me laugh :f_biggrin:

you will surely beat the cash game as you already learned a lot here at PS I guess. btw read the bronze BSS and silver BSS articles (most important advanced open raising and following, mhmm all of them are actually important ). It is such a valuable stuff. I have not learned anywhere else than on PS.com and it made me move to nl200 and beat it soon. and in the end to come work here

if I had time I would re-read these articles again. it really helps to read and re-read those

btw nice graphs, keep it coming ;)

Yeah, I'll start reading the BSS section tomorrow. Allthough I play MSS, I play mostly against big stacks, so I'll have to understand, what are they doin'. I tried NL25 yesterday and it seems to be as fishy as NL10. I guess I'll stay there a bit longer until moving to NL50.

Btw I think my blog will need some threadsavers, so here's the first one :)

Hey guys, I'm sorry that I didn't keep my blog updated, because I've been quite busy during last 2 weeks, suddenly all teachers decided, that we must write tests, so my typical day looked like: school -> some poker (only to reach 125FTP for iron man) -> learning for tests -> bed -> school.

I wanted to play 50k hands this month, but that was a big fail, actually I'm surprised that I managed to play half of that. Although I began to play CG this month, it looks like this was the most profitable month in my very short poker career :f_cool:

Here's the graph (10k hands on nl10, 1k on nl50 and the rest is nl25)

Spoiler

Goals for April:

:diamond: Move to NL50
:diamond: Qualify for the "iron" iron man
:diamond: watch all advanced MSS videos again
:diamond: Purchase a music keyboard and start practicing 1hr/day (I've been thinking about that for a long time, and I need some activity to clear my head)

Cheers!

Yesterday was my milestone in my poker career, my BR reached $1k.... weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. It's a great feeling _cool: However, I should study more, I still didn't post any of my hands sice I started with cash games, I only go through marked hands and I try to figure out, if I played that hand correctly, imo that is just not enough, I should implement posting hands into my goals. I remember when I started playing cg, one of my goals was to read bronze+silver BSS section, and that was another fail, hopefully I'll deal with that this week.

I'm running quite wel on NL50, I don't have a big sample, I only played 6k hands so far and my winning rate is about 12bb/100. I stil feel I sometimes do some retarded stuff, mostly when I bluff 3bet with thrash and cbet, I need to fix those leaks. Anyway, here's the graph
