Has anyone played the super turbos at FTP?
I am talking about the ones where you start with 300 chips.
Do you know if there is any strategy advice for these games online?
I feel like these games would attract a lot of donks and could be profitable.
Thanks
The one dollar ones aren't exactly poker but I find them to be quite profitable once you get a read on your opponents. The same people grind these over and over so just take a hell of a lot of notes on everyone. Once you play 3-5 on a certain time slot you'll have notes on half the people playing and that can be a huge advantage. Given the nature of the sng I generally tend to take notes on what they all in with, how often they play hands and what they try to blind steal with. You get a lot of people thinking that you can only blind steal with an all in, this is a great way to catch them offguard.
To start with I play tight if I don't know the opponents, and adjust my play from there, everyone all ins all the time and general strategy just doesn't apply. It can also be very volatile so you need a lot of patience for when someone beats your aa all in with 72o.
Check out my video "Ranges in Super Turbo SNGs."
The same ICM theory applies to these tournaments as to the slower 50-30-20 tournaments, but you encounter different stack sizes. The standard strategy for serious players is to play push/fold, with a few minor exceptions.
Because the tournaments are shorter (expect to average about 15 minutes), you can't expect to get as large of an advantage over your opponents. However, the rake is lower, and you can play a lot of them. So, some people like them, and find them profitable. Others prefer turbo or regular SNGs.

+1.
but sadly I know its possible to be a big winning player in them so there must be something I did wrong when I played them

for the record they are regfests, donks are attracted to them just like they are attracted to other forms of poker (poker sucks anyway)
