it was a second hand so I had no reads on the opponent. I considered raise on the flop to protect the hand but at the same time did not want to face all in. any considerations?

Hello VIIIemezzo,

Preflop: Fold here, not much you can beat. You are dominated by so many hands and maybe at the best have 3 outs.

As played
Postflop: Rather fold the turn, you only beat some draw and that's all and a draw ain't that likely but rather you are beat by some better Ax at least.

I would just add that calling his raise is very passive in this case. You are only going to play if you flop 2 pair and that's not going to happen very often. Even if you catch an ace you are WA/WB so calling here is a mistake.

If he really likes 3-betting you can raise again and bet any flop but that's only if he's very likely to fold preflop or on the flop.

On the other hand if he's agrro preflop but tight-passive postflop, calling here is fine.
