I think you can fold river when played this way unless you know he's capable of 3-barreling air. I dont think you should c/r flop, there's a decent chance he has an ace and in that case you only have your flush outs.
C/r is nice if he is able to fold some hands.
Did you have some more reads about him or was he just aggressive?
If he is aggressive like a TAG is then you can fold the river because there is no hand he would bet at the river which you beat and a bluff makes no sense.
If he is just aggressive and doesn't know what he is doing then the call is fine.
