MP1: $3.05
MP2: $10.79
CO: $11.25
BTN: $9.85
SB: $9.90
Hero (BB): $4.33
UTG: $10.58
UTG+1: $12.42
UTG+2: $3.74

Pre Flop: ($0.15) Hero is BB with 9  A
2 folds, UTG+2 calls $0.10, 2 folds, CO calls $0.10, 1 fold, SB calls $0.05, Hero raises to $0.60, UTG+2 raises to $3.74 all in, 3 folds

Here generally wonder whether it was properly to raise.
I must raise if i follow the strategy, but almost always someone will call and i must play this hand oop, which can bring troubles in long term.
What do you think?

I really see no point in raising in that spot for several reasons:

- our range is not way ahead vs opponents ranges and we can just check and see what the flop brings
- our fold equity is not that big since we are against three players and we are OOP
- we will have to play in a big pot OOP which is never cool especially when we are having hand like this

So I just check here and see what the flop brings.

After his shove it's an easy fold.

Hey moodkiller,

Against 3 unknowns I would rather check down preflop to avoid trouble for the reasons kymupa mentioned being the most important you are OOP with very mediocre hand.

However, if you have at least some info on them so you can estimate that they will very likely fold preflop then raising is fine. The higher the FE preflop the better it is to raise.

As played, it's an easy fold to a shove.
