Bleh. Playing no differently ($2 sngs) I just seem to be losing every single crucial hand I play in. If I make a set, villain makes a straight. If I make a flush villain makes a better one. Oh and all the coinflips I just seem to be losing even when I have the pocket pair edge :/ It seems relentless bad luck atm and i'm actually worried my bankroll is gonna run out if things don't change.

At what number of buyins should I stop playing sngs and switch to cash?

welcome to the world of variance! 30 down, 50 up 20 down, 15 up, etc, etc. I wouldn't feel safe with less then 30 Buy ins. This is me playing 16's, see how swingy it is?

Notice that 25Bi and 30 BI downswings are normal.

That graph is really valuable as I know your a good player nick, thanks for sharing. Very nice rise @ 600 games.

It's good to know that these things happen tbh I was beginning to question my game. I had been steadily increasing my bankroll until this sudden swing hit and now I shouldn't really continue if I'm to stick to strict BRM. And moving down to the $1s isn't really an option, I'm sure the 25% rake is -EV.

Hi ManniXXX!

You should definitely stop playing SNGs when you have less than 50 buy-ins. We will publish anarticle tomorrow about the bankrollmanagement in SNGs as you can read here: http://www.pokerstrategy.com/news/content/Second-content-week-2008_03020

Good luck at the tables!
