In situations like this where you have to protect and disregard pot control, I'd bet more on the turn, I think $4 would be OK here. This way you have an easy push on the river since you won't be justifying his call on the turn, and you still may be ahead, although that's unlikely.

As played I don't know what to do. Either check/call or push, I don't see myself folding there given the odds.

I'd shove the river as your remaining stack is so small.

I bet a little more on the turn, around 4$. However, when betting here I already plan for the next street and I'm all-in here with any river card.

Let me describe why by investigating your line, assuming he has a flush and puts you on a strong hand. If he assumes that he will get a call from you on the river if he pushes, how do the odds look like?

The pot is 4,45$, your bet is 3$ and the remaining stack is 5,10$. He has to pay 3$. He is getting 12,55$:3$ = 4,18:1 - with 9 Outs he need 4,11:1. Hence, if these assumptions are true, he is not making a mathematical mistake by calling! By increasing the bet size, you force him to pay more, but don't increase the final pot. If you bet 4$, he gets 12,55$:4$ = 3,14:1 - now calling is a mistake and you win if he calls and if he folds. Hope that clarifies the situation.

Yes it does :), thanks alot Thorsten. And btw, I like explanations like that since its so easy for me to miss something like I obviously did here :). And not to be an ass or anything, but just getting the answer 'shove' doesnt really make me any smarter about it
