Well, I presume that there is already a thread with this topic, but I just couldn't find it, so I apologize to moderators if I'm starting Xth thread on this topic.
Have you noticed that there is like 8 times less entries then last years? Is it possible that Black Friday and Full Tilt crises are doing this to World of live poker or is it something else or that in combination with numerous other reasons? Opinions?
Also, who do you find a most likely candidate to win?

In terms of numbers, I read somewhere that numbers are down like 12% but I think that was only after Day 1a of the main event and I might have mis-quoted it.
I personally think that numbers have held up quite well, I guess the epic growth seen in recent years couldn't be sustained indefinately at the rate it was going, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if further growth wasn't seen in the coming future years.
As you say, regulation or issues surrounding it has had an impact though.

p.s. Sorry forgot to answer your last bit. I have absolutely no clue as to who will win the main event, obviously could be 1 from a large number of well established players or indeed a relatively new player getting lucky one time baby 
Personally being British I would love to see a Brit win it and we certainly have strength in depth, but time will tell.
If forced to make a prediction I'd go for Akenhead ftw
