Hi,
Is ICM training enough to constantly win at the micro's?
I regularly get 90%+ on ICM trainer and SNG Wiz (when I had the free trial) and I follow the graphs on this website for playing the tight game in the early stages of a sit n go. In every SNG I play I get to the push fold stage unless I get AA, KK, QQ or AK pre flop, get it all in and lose. Or if I set mine and hit and lose. And yet I still am not winning. I've had long long sessions of breaking even, but as soon as I hit a downswing, there's no recovery. I break even until I hit a downswing, then I start breaking even at my new level, and never recover to the money level I was playing at before I hit a downswing. The downswings kill me off, and I never seem to hit upswings. By using ICM I never seem to have a constantly winning spell, I just break even. Obviously there is a leak I am missing.
I really want to figure out where I am going wrong. I've played approx 2000 SNG's and this pattern keeps emerging. I have played 10 man SNG's, 6 man turbo & super turbo SNG's and still I have long periods of this specific pattern. Break even, downswing, stay at new level, downswing, etc.
I was $70 below EV on William Hill, playing $1 SNG's after 950 games.
I'm now only about 13 euro below EV on 24h, playing super turbo SNG's after 700 SNG's.
Unfortunately I don't have old graphs from Full Tilt.
With both of these samples, if I was running at EV, I would still be down. I would have hit +money after 500 with the standard SNG's, but at that point I was $30 below EV.
All I am looking for here is some advice. Is the tight play with ICM enough to beat the Micro's? And if so, what places could I be going wrong? Any help could be greatly appreciated.
