I was just reading the basic articles for SNG, and I was wondering, is this strategy just for a single table, or would it also work in the 27, 90, 180 SNGs? I know there is also the MTT strategy so I was just wondering where the line between the two is drawn and what size the MTT strategy is more applicable.

Just because MTT SNGs and STT SNGs are both called SNGs does not mean you should use the STT strategy. There are a lot of adjustments to make.
When there are more players and a smaller proportion of the field is paid, it is more important to accumulate chips early. Survival is less important. Once you get to the final table, though, your risk aversion is higher due to the flatter payout schedules in MTT SNGs.
