Hi,

Even tho i have a small sample from the villain here, its obvious he folds preflop every leap year, also he is way to passive post flop.

So i OR A4s from the CO, BU villain 3bets me and i call. His 3bet range doesn't always hit the flop and probably leaves him with some A/Khigh overs, so i c/r him, got a call that shows me im probably ahead here.

Turn card is ok, brings some possible SD (completes one, but its highly unlikely he has 75) and again he just calls. River card is very bad, completes FD, 77 completes SD but vs that hand i was behind from the start, and so the villain decides to raise me.

Since he is so passive i find an easy fold, but what would be the best line here? c/f sucks he could still have only overcards, but then again if i bet what in the earth could he call on this kind of board that i beat (tho he really likes to calldown with nothing)? So, maybe just check hoping he would check back some trash?

as you already figured out yourself betting on the river is suboptimal as there is no worse hand he could call with and no better hand he could fold. either he's got a pocketpair below Queen that he's gonna call. if he's got Ax he'll fold this rivercards as all straightdraws and flushdraws have improved. If you say he is way too passive postflop you should check/fold the river. you could make him think "oh, he's scared with his queen now, i do rather check back with 88 99 TT" the chance to make him checkbehind with a better hand is imo bigger than the chance to get called by worse or get something better to fold. i don't consider him to be bluffing with AJ or something.
