He must have had a couple of spades or a king? So his turn bet was either a blocker bet or a bluff induce? Should I have bet the turn?

Well, yeah. Most likely it was a trap. :) Not much you can do there. :P Just next time be ready for it. I really doubt that he is ever playing this way with bluff. If he wanted to bluff why didn't he do that on flop?
